Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Pleasant Surprised!
Revisado: 06-05-21
The short review.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
More specifically,
I went into this not knowing what to expect. The premise sounded promising so I gave it a shot.
What I found was writing that filled my mind with fully fleshed out imagery. I could see this strange building and it's residents so vividly.
The reading was excellent! The accents were consistent and even his female voices were believable and not at all filled with exaggerated feminine quality.
The mystery is methodical at first and slowly builds revealing snippets and shadows and rumors. It turns into research and exploration and the shift is perfectly timed and suddenly things take an interesting turn leaving you with that out of breath feeling of "what just happened?"
The characters are introduced and with very little effort they develop depth and the verity of people that occupy this space is refreshing.
I'm writing this review months after listening and I think about this story often. I'd love for it to get he miniseries treatment one day. I think it would play well to the medium.
So fun and entraining.

Short and Bittersweet
Revisado: 06-05-21
A nice little addition to Bioshock lore. If you don't know the franchise, you probably know where the story is going.
The narration was ok. Somewhat repetitive cadence and female voices are a little unnatural sounding. Accents were consistent even if not always accurate to their origin. (Example: His Scandinavian sounded more Asian).
Overall I liked the story. it's like the little snippets of story you get from the game. This one with a severely bittersweet finish.

Historia
It was the end of World War II. FDR's New Deal had redefined American politics. Taxes were at an all-time high. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki had created a fear of total annihilation. The rise of secret government agencies and sanctions on business had many watching their backs. America's sense of freedom was diminishing... and many were desperate to take that freedom back.

Finished for Story
Revisado: 06-04-21
Like other reviewers, I'll have to agree the reading is the hardest part to get through. Accents are all over the place and I sometimes forgot who was talking within a scene. His cadence is repetitive and it's distracting but I eventually got used to it although it was still noticable.
The writing itself is somewhat repetitive in it's discriptions but otherwise it's good enough to paint the picture in your mind.
As a lover of the Bioshock game franchise I've always wanted to know more about the beginnings of Rapture and this story did that for me. It's the only reason if completed the audio audiobook.
Overall, an almost average experience that I initially struggled to finish.

Nice Little Escape From the Ordinary
Revisado: 06-19-20
Story complete with nicely fleshed out characters that you care about that battle a force intent on destroying all they care for. It will leave a warm fuzzy feeling for those who enjoy a good fellowship story. Harmony between two worlds and a struggle to maintain balance make for a gripping story.
The performance of the reader is perfectly selected for the tone and delivers a solid reading with touches of character for dialogue.
Overall, very pleasant.

Historia
Zack Lightman has never much cared for reality. He vastly prefers the countless science-fiction movies, books, and videogames he's spent his life consuming. And too often, he catches himself wishing that some fantastic, impossible, world-altering event could arrive to whisk him off on a grand spacefaring adventure.

Engaging Read
Revisado: 05-20-20
As usual, Will Wheaton is possibly the best person to narrate a story like this filled with nostalgia. it's not Ready Player One but the story is pretty engaging and it keeps you guessing on what's going to happen next. It's wrapped up at the end in a nice little bow. It really feels like you just finished an quriky 80s movie that's just a little more grown up.

First ever audiobook listened to. Not a disappointment. Wil Wheaton was clearly a perfect choice to read this title. Fantastic story. I can hardly wait to see the movie adaption.
