Historia
Stoicism is a philosophy, a worldview, and a transformational practice. Throughout the centuries everyone from kings and presidents to Silicone Valley entrepreneurs have drawn inspiration and wisdom from Stoicism. The best way to learn about Stoic philosophy is always to go back to the foundation—the original texts. Three writers form the bedrock of Stoic thought: Marcus Aurelius, a Roman Emperor; Seneca, a playwright and advisor; and Epictetus, a former slave turned philosopher and teacher. Stoic Foundations combines the work of these three pillars of Stoic thought into one essential volume.

Decent, but don't lose your place
Revisado: 09-10-24
the performance is good, though the translation is not the best I have heard. also the fact that the three books are not separated by chapters makes it difficult if you accidentally lose your place.

Historia
In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

Historia
Most people have heard of the Celts - the elusive, ancient tribal people who resided in present-day England, Ireland, Scotland and France. Paradoxically characterized as both barbaric and innocent, the Celts appeal to the modern world as a symbol of a bygone era, a world destroyed by the ambition of empire and the spread of Christianity throughout Western Europe. Despite the pervasive cultural and literary influence of the Celts, shockingly little is known of their way of life and beliefs, because very few records of their stories exist.

Historia
Meet the Wolf. Joe Wolf. He’s the head of a multibillion-dollar empire—a newspaper, a holding company, a football team—and the head of a family that puts King Lear to shame. His empire shows signs of crumbling when he’s approached with an “offer” to sell. It’s clear from the start that Joe is going to pay the ultimate price—and maybe more—if he refuses.

I struggled listening to this, as the phrase "____ Says" was so overused. I mean switch it up a little please. I found myself cringing every time it was said.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

good content, difficult to listen too
Revisado: 11-27-22
Doesn't have the best sound quality, the audio seems to have an echo, and sounds like narrators voice is sometimes far away or recorded in a large room while standing too far away from the mic. There are several points where a background voice can be heard, either poor editing or actually someone talking in the background. The swearing seems forced, I mean obviously with the title shits and fucks are expected, but they sometimes seem out of place and unnecessary.

Historia
Every day we experience the uncertainty, risks, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable or to dare greatly. Based on 12 years of pioneering research, Dr. Brené Brown dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Brown explains how vulnerability is both the core of difficult emotions like fear, grief, and disappointment, and the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, empathy, innovation, and creativity.

I loved this book, and Brené is awesome narrator
Revisado: 11-01-22
This is an amazing book. It is the 4th I've read that was both written and narrated by Brené Brown This one in particular made me laugh, cry, and laugh some more. I truly appreciate the personal touch Brené brings to narrating her work. I am also a visual learner, so I have also bought the hard copies of her books (to highlight, underline, and reread when necessary). I am so grateful for the gifts Brené has shown me how to use. I will not stop here. I have, and will continue to Dare Greatly.

I don't know, I might listen to one of the middle affirmation chapters again. am I supposed to listen to the whole thing while going to sleep like they said in the beginning? once the dude starts talking again and telling you how to do affirmations I woke right back up.
