Interesting person.
Revisado: 04-16-24
Not many new information. Except that Sophia survived a large number of mediocre movies.
It was good to hear about her positive attitude.

Interesting about distancing yourself from the target for a while, after they are hooked.

Too complicated, too many steps. I have to review my notes 😉 It is interesting to listen to, using the information will need preparation and effort.

That Wallis was a kind and warm person.

The audiobook was quite entertaining. I ended caring about the Duke and Duchess, and believe the Queen, King George’s wife, was insecure and wrong in shunning them. It was nice that later Elizabeth II, was caring and the Duke and Duchess were buried next to each other on royal grounds.

Sex-less marriages/relationships, that was surprising.

Really liked the narrator.
It was interesting that even though I did not agree with some of Jackie’s decisions, I rooted for her.

Historia
No celebrity rivals Elizabeth Taylor’s glamour and guts or her level of fame. She was the last major star to come out of the old Hollywood studio system and she is a legend known for her beauty and her magnetic screen presence in a career that spanned most of the twentieth century and nearly sixty films. But her private life was even more compelling than her Oscar-winning on-screen performances. During her seventy-nine years of rapid-fire love and loss she was married eight times to seven different men.

Though there are many factors behind such success, including luck and the contributions of his creative partner Marshall Herskovitz, he’s known to have a special talent for bringing out the best in the people he’s worked with, notably the actors. In those intense collaborations, he seeks to discover the small pieces of connective tissue, vulnerability, and fellowship that can help an actor realize their character in full.

I loved “Thirty Something” series (I hope they make the sequel); I did not know of Ed Zwick.
The behind the scenes process was very informative and the anecdotes very entertaining.
Ed is a wonderful narrator, too, as good as gifted actors. I highly recommend this audiobook for others who are really interested in films; in addition, I’m sure it would be very helpful for young people in the industry.
