Good story, ending leaves some things to be desired

Overall I really enjoyed the story. my biggest gripe is with the epilogue. The book would have been better off without it. I'd doesn't add to the story at all. It makes no sense that the cops didn't follow up on anything and I find it really hard to believe Eve didn't know about Jay all along.

This novel had a lot of inconsistencies to me. The novel opens by explaining that the main character is a DA, and talks about how she and her husband drove Lamborghinis to work and how she put him through law school. Explains that they're divorcing after a very public affair on his part. For some reason, she's lost her job, is moving out of her house and back home to other side of the country.
Also, despite working as an attorney in Boston and living the kind of life where she was driving a Lamborghini, she's still shocked and appalled at the price of coffee, like she's never been to a Starbucks and makes comments about someone going hot and cold like the water in rich people's houses. Which is a weird comment to make since the book opened talking about her Lamborghini and Louboutins. Is she used to the finer things in life or not?

Then this logical woman who has been a high profile DA for seemingly years proceeds to act like an irrational teenager, not a 40 year old woman. For me, that was the most irritating part. She wasn't any smarter, or more mature than the main characters in a YA novel. It almost seems like this was originally written to be about a teen but threw in the divorce and DA career in a hasty attempt to appeal to the new mid-life trend. I won't be reading any more books in this series.

I loved Stella and Becks story but OMG, I want spent the ENTIRE novel wanting to slap Holly and tell her to stop being an idiot.

predictable and I loathe the narrator

I'm a fan of Kristen Painter but I absolutely hate her preferred narrator. I can't tell of the narrator is a man or a woman but tI suspect it's a man and unfortunately he always manages to make the main character sound like a senior citizen. Part of what I love about Kristen are her more mature characters but the narrator makes them sound like an 80 year old grandmother. It's unfortunate.

I find the narrators mispronciations very distracting. For example, everytime she says Ally-stair instead of Alistair, or when she says no-dead instead of nodded.
In terms if the storyline I'm struggling, I'm about halfway through and can't get past the main characters idiocy. She is a wolf shifter and grew up with wolf shifters but somehow doesn't realize that she stumbled into a town full of wolf shifters, seriously?!

Couldn't finish it

The main character is so stupid its ridiculous. I'm about 7 chapters in and I've rolled my eyes about 100 times. I hate these type of books where the main plot devices is an idiotic main character justifying extremely stupid decisions with random neuroses. I'm done with this book and will be returning it.

Too much fluff

I really enjoyed the narrator's performance, however the MC rambles incessantly like the author was being paid per word. Every scene results in a sidebar with about 12 different descriptors, "the word stick in my mouth like taffy, like peanut butter, like hot caramel in the summer sun..." I keep thinking "Oh god just SHUT UP and get to point already"

I hate this narrator!

I wound up just reading the book the narrator's voice and inflections drove me crazy. She ends every sentence on an exhale so it sounds like she's constantly sighing, which would be perfect for a breathy romance novel but really irritating for every other genre. I like the stories but the narration ruins it.
