NOTHING like the other ones. Save yourself. If there is a book 12, I hope Audible stops me from ordering it before I waste a credit on it. Old stuff, same book, different day. Oh, and if the author stopped REPEATING herself, the book would have been 3 hours less misery, but better for it.

I love this writer and the narrator BUT...When you have a story set in any area that has multicultural names and locations, learn how to pronounce them. When a local listens to it, it’s ruins the story. For example, when the detective is called Benoit, correctly pronounced Ben Wah, not Ben Noyt is read, along with other names and places(Biloxi, please! ) it hurts the ears.

Well worth a listen! Light, funny, sexy and the author has Aisling saying some truly unique and memorable lines. Love the narrator’s voice and she makes all the characters different and individual. The only draw back is the quality of the recording. I wish there were a way to tone down the sound of the narrator swallowing as she reads. It’s understandable with multiple accents- Hungarian, English, French, and dopey dog all at once but it’s distracting.

The story was okay, could perhaps maybe even better but unfortunately the narrator sounded like she had new I’ll braces or retainer, in a tunnel. The sound quality is very poor. There was even feedback or a parakeet in the background, hard to tell.

If you love this series, save yourself now. Keep your good thoughts about this series and skip this one. The narrator is nasal and the story pathetic. It seems the only thing the author can do is wax poetic about motherhood, at length and to my listening displeasure, often. The only thing I liked was being able to get a refund for this overrated nonsense.

What happened?

What happened? I want the same reading experience of the first three books back. This one circled the drain for a really long time before it thankfully ended.

Not my favorite

I have been enjoying this series but " first ritual " is lacking. The characters are supposed to be adults but it's like middle school with each of them not knowing how to say they " like" a certain someone for four books now. The second half of the book felt rushed and the dialogue was different, short and clipped , almost as if written by someone else. Also if Isabella or Jacob could kill by opening a portal in the middle of a person, like the last book, why is Katherine still alive? If souls are bound to their bodies for 50 years after death for criminals in pergatory, why hasn't Harley and Tatiana not communed with Harley's dad? Since Harley can do a switching bodies spell why didn't she switch with Katherine in asphodel fields? Since Alden is a necromancy why is everyone worried that Harley will die? He's brought Astrid back four times. I hope the next one is better or even if the series isn't finished, I will be.

Silver is Dauphne from Scooby-Doo

The way, the style, the grammar is great, the narrator is also fantastic. I love the way the author writes.It’s just such a pity the characters are so weak and improbable. And I’m not talking about the paranormal. I keep listening in hopes that they flesh out some, get therapy or grow up. The men are either knuckle dragging,chauvinistic, abusive animals, or saints that wax poetic for entire chapters about how each of their ladies flaws or faults are really perfect, and they will wait for a dingle kiss forever. But neither is as bad as Silver, the female lead, who gets repeatedly kidnapped more than Dauphne in Scooby-Doo.
