Historia
You knew a teenager like Charlie Crabtree. A dark imagination, a sinister smile - always on the outside of the group. Some part of you suspected he might be capable of doing something awful. Twenty-five years ago, Crabtree did just that, committing a murder so shocking that it's attracted that strange kind of infamy that only exists on the darkest corners of the internet - and inspired more than one copycat.

Meh, disappointing
Revisado: 07-12-20
I found the jumping back and forth between the past and present confusing, especially because the narrator was the same. My other complaint is that there are a lot of characters to keep track of and I got confused between them in the end. One last complaint: the pace... slow pace throughout. Not terrible writing, but not my favorite book either. I'd give this ⭐⭐⭐1/2

Historia
Featuring original music by Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon! It's 2003 and Romy Hall is at the start of two consecutive life sentences at Stanville Women's Correctional Facility, deep in California's Central Valley. Outside is the world from which she has been severed: the San Francisco of her youth and her young son, Jackson. Inside is a new reality: thousands of women hustling for the essentials needed to survive; the bluffing and pageantry and acts of violence by guards and prisoners alike; and the absurdities of institutional living, which Kushner evokes with great humor and precision.

Lackluster performance of a disjointed story
Revisado: 12-05-18
I really struggled through this one. The narration is monotone and the story is disjointed and never fully comes together. I don't think it deserves all the accolades it is getting. Over hyped in my opinion.

Historia
Something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.Five years after it began, a handful of scattered survivors remain, including Malorie and her two young children. Living in an abandoned house near the river, Malorie has long dreamed of fleeing to a place where her family might be safe. But the journey ahead will be terrifying: 20 miles downriver in a rowboat blindfolded with nothing to rely on but Malorie's wits and the children's trained ears. One wrong choice and they will die. And something is following them....

creepy, lovely
Revisado: 04-29-16
This was wonderfully done. it was creepy, yet not so much that I couldn't sleep at night. Post-apocalyptic in nature, yet unlike anything I've read. Bravo!

Historia
People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

The best Moore book of them all!
Revisado: 09-21-15
There is something about this book over all the others...sometimes Moore's books try too hard to be comical. Not this one, it's dead on with its humor. And it IS hilarious! One to listen to more than once, it's well worth the credit or money you pay for it. And Fisher Stevens does a great job with the narration. Now, on to "Secondhand Souls"!
