Storyline had potential. Not for me!

In an effort to bring a human aspect to the story, the Autor goes to far in portraying the characters softness so as to make them seem pathetic. I have listened from book 1 and cannot go any further. Narrator was good. Probably what kept me engaged this far. Much of the story line is good but as above, it went to far.

Any additional comments?
After a few hours, suddenly no sound, this carries on for almost the rest of the book. Tried deleting it and reloading to no avail. Great potential for an epic story from a timeless author.
