Historia
Before We Were Trans illuminates the stories of people across the globe, from antiquity to the present, whose experiences of gender have defied binary categories. Blending historical analysis with sharp cultural criticism, trans historian and activist Kit Heyam offers a new, radically inclusive trans history, chronicling expressions of trans experience that are often overlooked, like gender-nonconforming fashion and wartime stage performance. Heyam looks to the past to uncover new horizons for possible trans futures.

Lovely Broad Overview of Trans History
Revisado: 03-29-23
I really loved the broad overview of trans history, and the careful view of ensuring readers understand applying the same labels we use today to the past isn't always accurate, even if people in the past experienced very similar things people experience today. At the same time, helping us see the feelings we feel are valid and are not unique to just this brief period of time and people have been experiencing these feelings for generations.

Historia
Every year in the United States there are fifteen thousand murders, give or take a few hundred. Of those, nearly forty percent go unsolved. In this six-part audio series, Christina Walsh is determined to change that. After struggling with the loss of her father, she sets out on a journey to bring the justice that has eluded her to the families of other victims. And she starts with a particularly strange case. The murder of world-renowned violinist Leona McPherson who mysteriously disappeared years ago after a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Loved the characters and story
Revisado: 02-08-23
Excellent suspenseful new world from Brandon Sanderson (and Dan Wells). I love the format and world. There’s always another secret and the storytelling, world building, and character development are excellent. The suspense was delightful. It’s a fantastic new format and story. Much darker than anything I’ve read from Brandon before, but I still loved every minute of it.

Historia
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

I Do Not Understand Why I Like This
Revisado: 02-22-18
I have no idea why I liked this story. It's not well written, the performance isn't that great, and the characters are relatively one dimensional. But somehow the bones of the story are compelling enough to want to keep reading until the end.
