Historia
The empire defeated the Swarm at the Battle of Iris, but it came at a great cost. To win, Hazard King needed to reveal he was Crown Prince Henry and take command of the Imperial Fleet as War Leader. Now their enemy is suing for peace, something many in the empire don't want to give. There are even officers in his own fleet that wish to restart the war and eradicate the Swarm. Hazard and his mother, Empress Elizabeth, face not only issues in the Isis System but across the empire.

Britannia in the distant Future
Revisado: 01-21-24
I enjoyed this book. Start with a great story and hear it performed by a great reader. The characters are diverse and operate in various cultures. This makes for an interesting story. Incorporating, Monarchs, democracies, dictators, and Marxist give it a very contemporary political insight.

Historia
Hazard King was ready to get back to a normal life… Well, as normal a life as the next emperor of the Brittania Empire could expect, anyway. Hazard wanted to continue his naval career—to grow and take on positions of higher responsibility—because he knew the Swarm would be back, and he intended to be there to fight them when they returned. He had learned how to delegate, though, and while he was training, the rest of Team Hazard was tasked with eliminating the Marxist spy network, which they had discovered was mostly made up of rogue Imperial spies.

Hail Britannia future! In Prince Commander
Revisado: 09-14-23
This read was exciting and so well constructed. Mr Hughes has a unique perspective on royalty and military strategy. It plays out in the story. There are familiar names hidden in the story form the present. And ancient rivals still at it well into the future. It’s a good listen.

Will he run in 2024? You bet he will. Will he be the GOP nominee? Absolutely. Will he win the election? Yes.The stakes of the next elections could not be higher. The Democrats won the election of 2020—sort of—and the disastrous consequences are already upon us. As he did in his 2016 New York Times best seller, Armageddon: How Trump Can Beat Hillary, renowned campaign strategist Dick Morris provides the road map for taking back the White House and the nation in this new book, The Return.

The culture we elected articulated
Revisado: 11-06-22
There is a saying we elect the government we deserve. In the return the rotted government we evolved to is described. The government we could have is also described. But it takes those willing to investigate what they vote for. My prayer is for an awakened electorate and this read is helpful in the educated voter. Our country has come far but vigilance is required to keep it moving and cancelling the perversion of it. Dick. Morris pulls back the blinds for even those who chose not to see.

Historia
Hazard King had always wanted to be an Imperial Fleet officer, just like his father. That was always going to be complicated since he was a prince of the Realm. Complicated turned into almost impossible when the empress is attacked. What is a simple lieutenant supposed to do with his mother in a coma, a seemingly invincible enemy on the offensive, a darkness from the past stirring, and his paranoid older brother trying to assassinate him?

A fine Read about life well into the future
Revisado: 12-21-21
The Prince Awakens was a very pleasant surprise. I was not familiar with Fred Hughes work. He wrote a great story about how life might operate in the future. Well into the future a couple thousand years from now. His knowledge of how naval operations take place provide a keen sense of how a fleet of space craft would operate in a universe that is much larger than our earth bound perspectives. The story has all the elements that make a novel intriguing. There is love, danger, political intrigue and military tactics. Mr. Hughes attention to detail gave the book a very realistic angle. The Audible version of the book was read by a very solid voice that brought out the intensity and energy of the writing. I really enjoyed The Prince Awakens and look forward to his next work.

The dust storms that terrorized America's High Plains in the darkest years of the Depression were like nothing ever seen before or since, and the stories of the people that held on have never been fully told. Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist and author Timothy Egan follows a half-dozen families and their communities through the rise and fall of the region.

I enjoyed it very much.
Revisado: 09-18-21
Driving the High Plains from Whichita falls to Denver several times a year, I really enjoyed hearing the history of the region. Dumas, Dal-hart and Clayton. It’s a true account of what man did and is doing again draining the Aquifer.
I give it four stars over all. There is more to the story, So plenty of room for a sequel.
Enjoy

Historia
Confucius is perhaps the most important philosopher in history. Today his teachings shape the daily lives of more than 1.6 billion people. Throughout East Asia, Confucius' influence can be seen in everything from business practices and family relationships to educational standards and government policies. Even as Western ideas from Christianity to Communism have bombarded the region, Confucius' doctrine has endured as the foundation of East Asian culture.

Revisado: 08-25-21
I purchased this book to understand China. The Confucius thread accounts for the study focus of many Asian Families. He established the Meritocracy philosophy. Study hard to be prepared for government. Pass the exams and get placed according to your scores. If you want to get a top level look at Confucius this is a good read. I enjoyed it.

Historia
Peter Schweizer explains how a new corruption has taken hold, involving larger sums of money than ever before. Stuffing tens of thousands of dollars into a freezer has morphed into multibillion-dollar equity deals done in the dark corners of the world. President Donald Trump’s children have made front pages for their dicey transactions. However, the media has barely looked into questionable deals made by those close to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Mitch McConnell, and lesser-known politicians who have been in the game longer.

How the DC swamp gets away with stealing
Revisado: 05-26-21
I found this book very helpful in understanding how politicians get elected to a job and become millionaires and billionaires. It explains how the public is exploited by our elected "elite". It is evident that the practice of offshore laundering of US foreign aid is used to compensate families and connected friends to line their accounts with washed funds. Well worth the read to make you aware, but caution you will also be angry about how corrupt our elected officials are.
