Boring, slow paced, meh

Kyoshi was SO MUCH better. This feels like almost all slow politicking and intrigue, completely different from all the shows and both kyoshi novels. Tiny bits of action but almost no fire energy.

Fabulously written, gripping and excellent story

+Very real characters (people)
+Gripping and well balanced between intensity and intellectual space play
+Realistic enough to feel like a documentary
Very different feel from Freedom and Daemon. Those books held massive social commentary and suggestions, and the action was more violent. Delta-v is intriguing for what's happening moment to moment, and interestingly, the small world of a tight main cast felt huge in scope, thanks to the deep and thorough character growth.

Second book, first book, this book: the best three, in thst order. This was fun and entertaining, but not epic or deep enough like Atlantis to inspire you to read it multiple times. Still, waaay better than the third, and I skipped the fourth and fifth from those reviews. Nice job Scott, but we know your bar is higher! Let's have some Authorities and Formalities mastery level writing back, hmmm? 💚

I loved the inheritance books, but this is really just a series of vignettes. It was nice to peek into everyone's world, but the urfal dragon wurm story didn't seem to matter for the greater epic. Christopher is a great storyteller, but if you wanted the inheritance saga timeline to move forward, this feels like more of 10% of the start - a whole bunch of exposition - and doesn't take you anywhere significant.
I do look forward to more eragon books and loved Angela's chapter. It was by far the best. Hope more, and more meat, comes out!

Circe is one of the best books on embodied divinity that I've read. Like Achilles, it gives us rich character growth, a rich tapestry of lore, and believable interactions between very human characters, to the point where they are people, breathing, angry, joyful, true as to form.
