Historia
Caregivers need clinical training so they can triage mental health problems in ways that promote post-traumatic growth. In this audiobook, the concepts of moral injury, religious coping, and crisis intervention are discussed with the aim of equipping caregivers to engage with mental health issues. A guiding light is personal, pastoral experience as an emergency room chaplain.

Good for clinicians
Revisado: 03-24-24
This book is a good resource for clinicians. Gives an understanding of how moral injuries can exacerbate PTSD and how spirituality can help.

Historia
Imagine, if you will, a disease - one that has only subtle outward symptoms but can hijack your entire body without notice; one that transfers easily between parent and child; one that can last a lifetime if untreated. According to Dr. Paul Conti, this is exactly how society should conceptualize trauma: as an out-of-control epidemic with a potentially fatal prognosis. In Trauma: The Invisible Epidemic, Dr. Conti examines the most recent research, clinical best practices, and dozens of real-life stories to present a deeper, richer, and more urgent view of trauma.

Garbage
Revisado: 07-10-22
I only bought this due to Huberman's podcast. Go to his other podcasts about trauma to get actual help. This was the worst source for trauma information and I say this as a therapist that specializes in trauma. This garbage was mostly filler about generalities about trauma that had no real application for what would help. How does someone deal with trauma???? Read this whole book and you will have no help as a result. EMDR? Other trauma therapies? Why do these help? The best analogy is that this is a book of a thousand fortune cookie discussions about trauma that does not give help nor insight about what trauma is or how it is treated. Mix in some garbage discussion on racism and the response to the COVID pandemic and I want my money back. Zero stars if possible

Historia
Have you ever felt as though someone was trying to manipulate you? Were you ever in a place in your life where you questioned if your thoughts were even your own? Are you tired of others trying to take advantage of you? If you answered yes to any of this, then it’s clear that you will benefit from introducing yourself to some psychological theories and tactics. Our brains are rather complex and it’s not easy for even the most skilled individuals in the psychology world to understand.

Terrible
Revisado: 07-05-20
This book is garbage. Much of the information is constantly repeated over and over again. The voice is a computer voice that is hard to listen to. It seems that they had taken this book and had it translated with a computer generated voice and could not spend the money on a real human. Audible should be ashamed for the quality and the supervisor who let this get past quality control should be fired

Historia
It is now 100 years since drugs were first banned in the United States. On the eve of this centenary, journalist Johann Hari set off on an epic three-year, 30,000-mile journey into the war on drugs. What he found is that more and more people all over the world have begun to recognize three startling truths: Drugs are not what we think they are. Addiction is not what we think it is. And the drug war has very different motives to the ones we have seen on our TV screens for so long.

Avoid if you want any information about addiction
Revisado: 12-17-19
So...watch his youtube videos if you want get a condensed version of this trash of a book. I thought this would give me some viewpoints of addiction but it goes off on stupid tangents about how addicts are treated rather than develop a proper understanding of addiction. It neglects to depict the actions that lead people to perform the actions that destroy relationships, rob people, and all actions that cause addicts to suffer consequences, but rather focus on the treatment addicts recieve as a consequence of their screwed up actions. It is almost like this author is taking a victim stance for all the addicts he has interviewed. Don't even bother to spend the amount of time discussing the damage inflicted by addicts to innocent victoms that did nothing to earn this bullshit treatment. I love the youtube videos by Johann Hari and encourage everyone to watch them. This book focuses on the treatment that addicts recieve and neglects all the relationships that addicts destroy.
