Insightful

Plenty of food for thought and trying to have better interactions with your significant others. Would like to see further research done into lgbtq+ and even how this all compares around the world.

The author is knowledgeable
Revisado: 09-21-24
Been studying and practicing Buddhism for almost 5 years. Still learned something new. Would be great if the author made a sequel called a very long introduction to Buddhism.

Historia
Drawing on his own experience and on the literature of combat from Homer to Michael Herr, Hedges shows how war seduces not just those on the front lines but entire societies, corrupting politics, destroying culture, and perverting the most basic human desires. Mixing hard-nosed realism with profound moral and philosophical insight, War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning is a work of terrible power and redemptive clarity whose truths have never been more necessary.

The myth of war
Revisado: 06-13-24
The myth of war exposed. The motivation for war considered. The consequences of war and the experience of war. It covers many of these aspects. I Appreciate the book for its honesty treatment of the subjects.

Brilliant, listenable, and raw. Maj. (ret.) Danny Sjursen, who served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and later taught history at West Point, delivers a true epic and the perfect companion to Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States.

This is worth a listen.
It’s not what I heard growing up. I suspected as much as I have been in Germany and told fck Americans by some one on the street. I was shoved by a stranger once too. The ramstein song America added to my curiosity. I thought how could anyone be against a nation trying to do good in the world. I thought However they likely know something that I don’t. The history never taught in most American schools at least when I was growing up.
