Historia
Eva Kavinsky wakes in a dark cellar, with no memory of how she got here. Imprisoned with her, seemingly at random, are four men. The only way out is the trapdoor in the ceiling – and it's locked. The single clue about what brings them all here is a cryptic message sprayed onto one wall. Connect the dots. Repent. A camera fixed high above reach is livestreaming this whole nightmare to the world. What confessions are they meant to make to their unseen audience?

I would never have guessed the direction this story took. Absolutely loved it! Some people may not enjoy the ending, but I understood why it had to be that way. Terrific story!

Very, very slow burn
Revisado: 09-09-23
I had a hard time getting into the story or connecting with any of the characters. The author has a nice writing style, making it easy to listen to. Unfortunately, most of the time I was waiting for something, anything to happen. Nothing remotely interesting begins until Chapter 30. And I felt really let down by the climax. Immediately after the climax, the story fast forwards a few months. Disappointed that I pre-ordered, should have waited for it to be at the library. The female narrator was terrific. I might not have finished if it wasn’t for her.

Historia
Judith Potts is 77 years old and blissfully happy. She lives on her own in a faded mansion just outside Marlow, there’s no man in her life to tell her what to do or how much whisky to drink, and to keep herself busy she sets crosswords for The Times newspaper. One evening, while out swimming in the Thames, Judith witnesses a brutal murder. The local police don’t believe her story, so she decides to investigate for herself and is soon joined in her quest by Suzie, a salt-of-the-earth dog-walker, and Becks, the prim and proper wife of the local vicar.

Perfect “cozy mystery” story
Revisado: 04-02-23
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Had just finished reading a particularly dark thriller, and was looking for something a little less scary. This book perfectly fits into the "cozy mystery" genre. Loved the relatable characters and the riveting storyline. Will definitely be reading more about these ladies.
Also, this author is the creator of the "Death in Paradise " TV series, which I absolutely love!

So much potential…
Revisado: 04-02-23
This book was a hard read for me. I prefer to be involved in the unfolding of the story and try to guess the who, what, where, and why along the way. However, much of the narrative is behind the scenes which we are not privy to. I was often wondering why are they going there or why are they doing that. It is not an unfolding, but rather an after the fact retelling. And with multiple POV's, I was frequently confused as to whom was speaking. There were too many characters and not enough time spent with any of them.
I loved "The Marlow Murder Club", which has a similar premise, so I was excited to read this book. The storyline itself is interesting, but was disappointed with the execution. I may read the second book because the premise has so much potential.
The narrator has a nice, comforting voice. In fact, if it wasn't for the audiobook, | might not have finished it.

Historia
When 17-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind: Why had the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?

Couldn’t even finish…
Revisado: 01-22-23
The storyline is a cute idea, but the characters of Rune and Poppy were horrible. Rune as a teenager is moody, toxic, and overly dramatic. I found myself rolling my eyes every time he opened his mouth. And Poppy is so naive and simple it’s annoying. I really tried finishing the book, but couldn’t do it. The female narrator was great. The male narrator was also great, except when he voiced Poppy. His Poppy voice was cringy.
