Historia
Tom Wade is a determined cop and a relentless man of action - equal parts Harry Bosch and Jack Reacher - who battles police corruption and a ruthless crime lord, against impossible odds. He’s exiled by his superiors to one of King City’s most notorious and violent neighborhoods - a poverty-stricken, gang-ridden hellhole known as Darwin Gardens. It’s a de facto death sentence. But Wade doesn’t fight the potentially fatal reassignment. With just two rookie officers to help him, Wade does the only thing he’s wired to do: his job.

Jon should have went AWOL
Revisado: 08-13-18
I was going to write a longer more detailed review but I would be here quite a while. needless to say this book was by far the most disappointing entry for the series. there was no plot, the characters were very superficial, this just felt like a complete waste of time. What a waste for the end of what could have been a great series of books.

Not the best
Revisado: 08-10-18
The story seems like it was strain more of an afterthought than a good idea. I don't know what the authors infatuation with the f word is, but true professionals do not speak like this. I bet if you get a word count, you can probably take a hundred words out of this book if you remove them all. the way he keeps repeating himself, adding extra descriptives and needless information, it seems like he was aiming for a longer page count with anything.

second rate performance, but great story
Revisado: 08-03-18
love the story, love how it intergrated in with the hellequin Chronicles. I hated the person narrating the story. She mispronounced various words, but my biggest aggravation is her mispronunciation of Abaddon. she made one of the most fearsome antagonists sound like a second thought and pronounced her name in a way that made me think of that badminton for some reason. there should be some sort of oversight before somebody can read a book like this. Even a little bit of research would have shown her how to pronounce some of these words and put more character into the different characters in this book she was very flat, OneNote most of the time and overall boring. she made most characters sound very monotone and her very poor imitation of a Southern accent made a few characters seem like bumbling morons. I wish Steve McHugh would have had more say so on who did the performance.
With that said, I can't wait for the next book and eventual series continuation with Nick Garrett.

Change is not always better
Revisado: 07-19-18
love the story, start bringing everything into picture from previous books. The only thing that severely disappointed me was the narrator. He talk too fast and used different accents four characters that have a history with the longtime narrator of James Langton. he mispronounces certain names and certain words to the point to where it's distracting. I hope James is back for the next book.

They can't all be jewels.
Revisado: 06-20-18
The Beast Within, written by James Daniels, is by far the worst entry in this series. it does not make any sense and does not fit into the story. James Daniel seems to be infatuated with racism and should never have even tried. it's basically a white power story and adds no value to the series. Lee Goldberg should be insulted for having this as a part of his collection.
