Historia
They were known as “Rudder’s Rangers,” the most elite and experienced attack unit the Army had. In December 1944, they would be the spearhead into Germany, taking the war into Hitler’s homeland at last. Their colonel was given this objective: Take Hill 400. After two days, when they were finally relieved, only 16 Rangers remained to stagger down from the top of Hill 400. The Last Hill is filled with unforgettable action and characters—a gripping, finely detailed saga of what the survivors of the battalion would call “our longest day.”

Great Story!
Revisado: 02-05-23
Although I was familiar with the D-Day exploits of the 2nd Rangers, I was in the dark as to the battle for Hill 400. I have a much better understanding now of what it was like to be a Ranger in WWII.

Historia
In this dramatic account of the 1944-45 winter of war in Bastogne, historian Peter Schrijvers offers the first full story of the German assault on the strategically located town. From the December stampede of American and Panzer divisions racing to reach Bastogne first, through the bloody eight-day siege from land and air, and through three more weeks of unrelenting fighting even after the siege was broken, events at Bastogne hastened the long-awaited end of WWII.

Great Sory, Poor Narrator Choice
Revisado: 04-27-19
This has wounderful, first hand stories, which are a great insite into the critical point of the Battle of the Bulge. the narrator's English/Scottish accent is out of place while narrating American dialect. when the Narrator does General Patton' s quotes, he sounds like a bad rendition of Carry Grant trying to imitate Humphrey Bogart.

Get the mind right and the body will follow.
Revisado: 04-17-18
What made the experience of listening to Lifted the most enjoyable?
Lifted is a great book on it's own but hearing Holly speak is like having a best friend and wellness coach in the room with you. She is highly motivating.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lifted?
A 5'4" woman with a dream to become a professional basketball player that she turns into a reality. A goal is a dream with a plan. She is focused on results and how to get there with setting specific goals.
Which character – as performed by Holly Rilinger – was your favorite?
Not applicable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not an extreme reaction, but again, Holly's advice and knowledge is like having your best friend there looking out for you.
Any additional comments?
This book is not like all the other diet and fitness books out there. It is so much more. While there is a great workout plan and recipes (which are available as a download with the audio book), Holly focuses on mind and spirit more that most books on fitness. Get the mind right and the body will follow.
