Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

kinky?...NO! it is SICK-O
Revisado: 03-27-25
SERIOUSLY mentally ill characters. I read the warnings and I can deal with listening but this is aberrant behavior in the extreme. On the up side, the narrators were actually just reading their own gender sections which was a nice change in these audibles. Certainly the read can be sexually stimulating but in a very lascivious and gross way. The "murder" event was well done.

Revisado: 03-23-25
Another great book in the series.
Went on too long in places especially in levels of achievement % but very interesting last fight. Would have liked a bit more resolution in the ending. (Hard to believe this late 60yoa Mom is still enjoying this series with no past interest in LitRPG.)

Historia
With the Builder threat behind them, the time has finally come for Jason and his team to hit the road. Eager to get back to the adventuring he’s been longing for, Jason is excited to not be at the center of world-changing events. But before he goes, one last attempt to pull him into politics has him leaving Rimaros with a strong final impression. With new places to visit and new people to meet, the remnants of recent events have scarred the land and left lingering dangers behind. It's a busy time for adventurers willing and able to fight with monsters.

Much improved pace over Book 8
Revisado: 02-25-25
Book starts out very well and still gets slow (too many fighting ability descriptives) as the chapter 80's develop. Doesn't end with any resolution (which I hate) but feels chopped off to start Book 10. Book 9 is quite long, however. The narrator is amazing! I am still continuing on to Book 10.

Boring then Very Good (not excellent)
Revisado: 01-18-25
First 22 Chapters were just explanations of abilities. Story then picks up but, as others have said, there is no plot definition and this story just is fodder for the next book. Still enjoying the humor of his writing. I am continuing on with the next book in the series and it is starting out well.

Clever idea but not executed well
Revisado: 12-20-24
Dislike when male and female narrators are used every other chapter to voice both sexes...very distracting and jarring when the character's voice changes. Female's voice was snarky most of the time. Also it played better at 1.2 speed. The story moved too slowly especially before Chapter 8. The story ended without much resolution begging you to buy the next in the series...just another reason I rated this story as I did. I will not be listening to the next audiobook.

Jason arrives at a kingdom in peril and he's surprised to discover that it's not his job to save it. With the authorities fulfilling their responsibilities (for once), he looks forward to some quiet time to rest and recuperate. The locals might not find ceaseless monster onslaughts and an interdimensional invasion relaxing, but Jason has had a rough few years. He's doing his best to let go of his anger. While his team is caught up in duty, Jason has no shortage of people looking to interfere with his rest. Enemies—old and new—are circling, and even would-be allies are trouble.

Loved this "book"... a step up from Book 7 (and Book 8 is starting with too many special talent descriptives again). A must read if you are into this series and I am a mid 60's listener whose son got her hooked on these "HWFWM" audibles. Never played a video game.

Historia
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Didn't see the need for 2 narrators
Revisado: 10-14-24
Held my interest til 3/4 the way into it and then improved as approached the ending. In all honesty, I also was preoccupied with something else going on in my life. Worth a listen. Both narrators were fine but no need for both. I always enjoy Chu's stories. Compared to some other reviews, I did like the over-controlling Mother portion but felt it was too easily resolved.

major plot holes and dragged out
Revisado: 09-16-24
Pacing issues thru-out the book. Narrator annoying voice for Izzy. Poor friendship development between the girls. Overly violent villain. Major plot holes. Never explained something Cassie said (perhaps saving for a second book?). Overall, I found the book depressing and frustrating.
I normally enjoy this genre.

throbbing member seeks busty blond
Revisado: 08-28-24
Missed opportunities by the writer: good premise but poorly executed. How does 4 orgasms/24 hours equal love? His kiss was hot and wet....gross. Main female lost her intelligence toward the end. PLAYED IT AT 1.2 SPEED as narrator plodded along. Sorry that I held on til the end as I was curious if the "who dun it" would be clever....nope.
