Should you do it?
Revisado: 11-25-20
If you're as big a sea nerd as me, you've literally listened to all of the other books, you remember being dissatisfied by the way Hornblower ended, and you're wondering if you should waste a credit on the summary. Yes! It's like "pimping" for 90's kids....it ain't easy, but it's necessary.

Historia
The H.M.S. Leopard pulled into the bay of Pulo Batang looking more like a shabby merchant ship that a man-of-war. The crew had endured a calamitous voyage plagued by gaol-fever, pursued by the Dutch Waakzaamheid, and struck by an iceberg. Suffice it to say, Jack Aubrey was ready for home.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 07-17-20
Patrick Tull is the only narrator I trust for these books! His superb delivery of the individual characters makes the interactions come to life. As an American, as well as a Marine, my only issue with this book was a profound guilt in rooting for my two favorite protagonists in actions I knew had historical truth. You won't find Captain Aubrey commanding from the quarter deck of his own vessel for most of this one, but it has been one of my favorites of the series! 10 out of 10, and a must listen for fans of Master and Commander!

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Narration
Revisado: 04-28-19
I love this book, and have read it many times. The narrator's inability to remember his own pronunciation of names (that are mispronounced to begin with), application of a nasal English accent to Dothraki blood rider's voice, and a lack of variety in character voices was the only thing that took away from it on Audible. He does have a pleasant true voice and reads clearly. So I can forgive most of that. Overall I definitely recommend the book. Having read most of Martin's works related to this set. I realize I probably just have pretentious expectations for the reading of this story.

Only 27 years old, Horatio Hornblower has distinguished himself as a capable and intrepid officer in the Royal Navy. Narration was a little bland at times, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I did grow used to the narrator's reading by the end.

Historia
A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.
