Across this five-episode series, Bill Bryson, with the help of The Science Museum's curators, takes us object-by-object through some of the museum's lesser known inventions and discoveries - and the human stories behind them.

Sorry, I just could not become at all interested in the topics they were covering. Even as a scientist and physician, I could not sustain any interest in this audible series.

Historia
Britain's most chilling crimes are brought sensationally to life in this compelling new series, using court room transcripts, police interviews, 999 calls, secret audio recordings and eye witness testimonies. With new insights into those responsible - from the shocking murders and manhunt of Raoul Moat to Jamie Bulger's killers - this show is not for the easily disturbed.

Inaccurate
Revisado: 08-20-19
Being a fan of true crime, thought I would give this a try. Had to stop after the second story, which was full of inaccuracies. In speaking about the Louise Woodward case (where a British nanny shook a baby) they relied heavily on quotes from defense lawyes rather than on the testimony of physicians in regards to Abusive Head Trauma (previously known as “Shaken Baby Syndrome”). As a pediatrician with training in the field of child abuse, I can tell you that the reported injuries are absolutely consistent with Abusive Head Trauma. Unfortunately, their coverage of this case appeared to have some bias, perhaps owing to the fact that this was produced by a British company.

The truth is still out there. The iconic hit that had millions searching for UFOs back in the 90s is now an exhilarating audio event, only from Audible. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

Campy
Revisado: 10-04-18
I love the X-files; so I was disappointed to listen to a campy, difficult to understand audiobook of short stories. Unfortunately the stars who do so well on screen do not translate as well in an audio only format. In trying to avoid narration, the characters speak in expositions. It would almost be better to take an episode of the X-files, remove the video, and just listen to the audio. Hoping that future productions of this kind sound better.

Historia
If the past is prologue, then George R. R. Martin's masterwork - the most inventive and entertaining fantasy saga of our time - warrants one hell of an introduction. At long last, it has arrived with The World of Ice & Fire. This volume is a comprehensive history of the Seven Kingdoms, providing vividly constructed accounts of the epic battles, bitter rivalries, and daring rebellions that lead to the events of A Song of Ice and Fire and HBO's Game of Thrones.

Mind numbingly boring
Revisado: 01-26-18
Wow. I am 12 chapters in and I cannot go any further. I really enjoyed the other three books, but this is about as exciting as reading the genealogy parts of the Old Testament. The reader is fair, but I don’t think anyone could make this material exciting. It’s very repetitious, and mostly consists of, “so-and-so waged war on so-and-so who ruled for so many years only to be conquered by what’s-his-name” over and over again. Reminds me of the Iliad. Or the Silmarillion by Tolkien. Don’t listen to it while driving, you may fall asleep.
