Historia
Martin Lorensen is a twenty-three-year-old counselor for disturbed teenagers. He’s bright, compassionate, attractive, and outgoing. He’s also—and this is the most interesting thing—not dead. Martin has improbably survived not one but two deadly disasters that claimed dozens of lives. The kid is riding one hell of a lucky streak. Two federal agents think there is something darker at play. Now that they’ve arranged to interview Martin, they want answers. Martin is ready to share everything he knows. One thing is for certain: when it comes to escaping death, luck doesn’t figure into it at all.

This was just as good as his other works. I wish it had been longer.

Historia
There is only one Wright Thompson. He is, as they say, famous if you know who he is: his work includes the most-read articles in the history of ESPN (and it's not even close) and has been anthologized in the Best American Sports Writing series ten times, and he counts John Grisham and Richard Ford among his ardent admirers. But to say his pieces are about sports, while true as far as it goes, is like saying Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove is a book about a cattle drive.

Emotions and connections for some people I’d never even heard of. Yes. The writing is that good.

Historia
Connie's mother asks her to sell an abandoned house once owned by her grandmother in Salem, Mass. Relunctantly, Connie moves to the small town and inhabits the crumbling, ancient house, trying to restore it to a semblance of order. Curious things start to happen when Connie finds the name "Deliverance Dane" on a yellowed scrap of paper and begins to have visions of a long ago woman condemned for practicing "physick," or herbal healing, on her neighbors in 1690s Salem.

Love her writing style. Even though I’ve read the books out of order, it was easy to keep up.

Far from her best work.
Revisado: 11-03-21
I’ve read multiple books by Katherine Howe and loved them all. It’s almost like someone else wrote this book. I could not even finish it.

Historia
In one of the most underestimated - and challenging - positions in the world, the first lady of the United States must be many things: an inspiring leader with a forward-thinking agenda of her own; a savvy politician, skilled at navigating the treacherous rapids of Washington; a wife and mother operating under constant scrutiny; and an able CEO responsible for the smooth operation of countless services and special events at the White House.

I think I would've enjoyed it more if it followed some time loose line or was set up by each First Lady, but I still really enjoyed it.

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Wonderful collaboration. I have always preferred Steven King's and other son Joe Hill's writings over Owen King's, but this made me rethink. Loved it.

Historia
Every day is the same for Rhiannon. She has accepted her life, convinced herself that she deserves her distant, temperamental boyfriend, and even established guidelines by which to live: Don't be too needy. Avoid upsetting him. Never get your hopes up. Then comes the morning when everything changes.

Not Every Day
Revisado: 01-10-16
Another Day lacked the freshness of Ever Day. Rhiannon in this book seemed whiney and trite. The details didn't match up with Every Day, even though it was the same story with two narrators.
