Historia
What can parents do to help their youngest children in their task of self-formation? How does the Montessori method of hands-on learning and self-discovery relate to the youngest infants? This authoritative and accessible book answers these and many other questions. Based on Dr. Maria Montessori's instructions for raising infants, its comprehensive exploration of the first three years incorporates the furnishings and tools she created for the care and comfort of babies.

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!
Revisado: 01-10-20
This is my first book on Montessori that I've purchased and I can say that my high expectations were definitely met and surpassed. I have a 12-month old that I am trying to parent the best I can, but I want to do so with the science behind my deliberate choices and design of his environment. I've quickly learned that the toys and ways in which I interact with my child have been a little off and this book has allowed me to make changes that are immediate within our home as well as have a better understanding of how his miraculous little brain works at his age. We got rid of the crib and he surprisingly has done well with the transition. We got rid of all of the toys that limit his ability to be creative and we are working on being intentional with how we speak with him and go about the daily activities. He is fascinated by putting on his socks and shoes, brushing his own teeth, cleaning the table and feeding himself. He has really enjoyed me letting go of the reigns and doing everything for him... WHICH I DIDN'T even know I was doing in the first place! READ THIS BOOK!
I personally like the tone of the narration and writing. I felt like this is how I would write a book, so if you can handle a little truth and aren't too sensitive you will be fine! ;)

Historia
There is a new revolution happening in sports as more and more athletes are basing their success on this game-changing combination: health, nutrition, training, recovery, and mindset. Unfortunately, the evidence-based techniques that the expert PhDs, academic institutions, and professional performance staffs follow can be in stark contrast to what many athletes actually practice. When combined with the noise of social media, old-school traditions, and bro-science, it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction.

Awesome!
Revisado: 09-01-19
My favorite part about this book is that the author asks many questions that he then goes on to answer objectively with sound scientific research. He doesn’t add his own opinion unless clearly stated and he doesn’t exaggerate or underestimate findings. It is clear and a book you may want to put on repeat a few times until you’re able to understand all of the concepts. They are scholarly and can give your brain a little twist if you’re not a commoner of functional medicine principles.

Historia
Mark Mathabane was weaned on devastating poverty and schooled in the cruel streets of South Africa’s most desperate ghetto, where bloody gang wars and midnight police raids were his rites of passage. Like every other child born in the hopelessness of apartheid, he learned to measure his life in days, not years. Yet Mark Mathabane, armed only with the courage of his family and a hard-won education, raised himself up from the squalor and humiliation to win a scholarship to an American university.

If you've read it once you've read it 3X
Revisado: 01-30-16
Author has some good insight and recounts the stories of interesting individuals that aren't super mailstream. But he recounts these same stories multiple times each throughout the book. As if he copied and pasted them into different chapter. So you cover the same ground multiple times and it gets tiresome.

Historia
John D. Rockefeller (1839-1937) founded the Standard Oil Company, revolutionized the oil business and, after adjusting for inflation, may have been the richest person in world history. Rockefeller's business practices were fiercely condemned, but he and Standard Oil had a policy of not responding to the attacks of critics. Random Reminiscences of Men and Events (1909) is in part a personal memoir, in part a response to his critics, and in part a book of advice on making money and philanthropy.

Any additional comments?
I thought this wasn't going to be beneficial or instructive, maybe entertaining at best. I was pleasantly surprised however. This book proved to be very instructive and gave me a lot of insight in to what made Rockefeller as successful as he was.

Historia
In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Awesome Read! Narrator is the BOMB at x3

Any additional comments?
Brick was actually pretty dang good. Start listening at 1.25X then slowly move up to 3X (if you would like to). Brick talks slowly but probably sounds the best at 1.5X. I had full comprehension at 3X and thought it was very engaging. Have a great time listening most def worth it!
