Historia
Easy Company, 506th Airborne Division, U.S. Army, was as good a rifle company as any in the world. From their rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 to D-Day and victory, Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company, which kept getting the tough assignments. Easy Company was responsible for everything from parachuting into France early D-Day morning to the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. Band of Brothers is the account of the men of this remarkable unit.

Historia
In November 1965, some 450 men of the First Battalion, Seventh Cavalry, under the command of Lt. Col. Hal Moore, were dropped by helicopter into a small clearing in the Ia Drang Valley. They were immediately surrounded by 2,000 North Vietnamese soldiers. Three days later, only two and a half miles away, a sister battalion was chopped to pieces. Together, these actions at the landing zones X-Ray and Albany constituted one of the most savage and significant battles of the Vietnam War. How these men persevered makes a vivid portrait of war at its most inspiring and devastating.

Extremely Moving!
Revisado: 09-02-24
It tells so much more about what these men had to go through, than what it shows in the movie.
It also leaves you with a lot more heartbreak for the families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the ones who relived that battle, for so many years afterwards.

Historia
In 1942 the US Army unleashed one of its greatest secret weapons in the battle to defeat Adolf Hitler: training nearly 2,000 German-born Jews in special interrogation techniques and making use of their mastery of the German language, history, and customs. Known as the Ritchie Boys, they were sent in small, elite teams to join every major combat unit in Europe, where they interrogated German POWs and gathered crucial intelligence that saved American lives and helped win the war.

I served two years in Germany, and listening to this book, makes me wish I had learned more about how the Nazis had effected the lives of ordinary people 😢.

So much better than the movie!
Revisado: 12-24-23
Lisening to the "forensic" details of the series, is one of the aspect I enjoy most. It shows that Mr. Deaver does his research, and knows how to incorporate them in the story.
