Amazing story line but the performance...

Weak story, perfectly fine narration

I wanted to love this story and parts of it I did but honestly overall it fell really flat for me. I didn't grow attached to the characters in the way I really feel like could have happened with some different choices by the author. The information presented about Cuba's history was repetitive and surface level. I never felt absorbed in any party of the story but like there was something akin to watching it from a distance.
The narration was fine, great, no worries there. I liked the framing of the story and the way the past and present were told simultaneously but it had so much more potential in my mind than what was achieved. Felt like a lackluster and predictable romance story.
