Historia
The Authority Gap provides a startling perspective on the unseen bias at work in our everyday lives, to reveal the scale of the gap that still persists between men and women. Would you believe that female US Supreme Court Justices are interrupted four times more often than male ones...96 percent of the time by men? Marshalling a wealth of data with precision and insight, and including interviews with pioneering women, Mary Ann Sieghart exposes unconscious bias in this fresh, feminist take on how to address and counteract systemic sexism in ways that benefit us all.

Sexist, dishonest, and destructive
Revisado: 12-17-22
Blatant sexism slanted against men and in favor of women.
Twisting facts, manipulating statistics and tortured logic.
Disasterous and erroneous conclusions just as flawed as the reasoning provided.
This women is dangerous not because of her ambition but because of the moral and intellectual violations she is willing to commit in her ideological pursuit of power.

Historia
This quintessential coming-of-age novel describes the early life of Stephen Dedalus. It is set in Ireland during the 19th century, which was a time of emerging Irish nationalism and conservative Catholicism. Highly autobiographical in nature, the work is also notable for its being the first one in which Joyce uses innovative “stream of consciousness” writing style. A Portrait... follows Stephen Dedalus from his babyhood into early adulthood.

Intellectually clever by half
Revisado: 05-10-22
A coming of age story that never seems to grow beyond teenage angst. The book is highly overrated and likely because of its secular attacks on religion that largely misquote and misconstrue the doctrine of the church. I'm not catholic nor even religious but even a few google searches and reading up on subjects touched on in the book show the author was being less than genuine in his portraits of criticism. This kind of deceit and intellectual bankruptcy was likely effective before the internet in the authors time but is pretty inexcusable today.

Good at identifying the problem;terrible solutions
Revisado: 08-15-21
The story and details always point to government failures, corruption, and incompetence yet time and again the authors push for more government as the solution. They come out repeatedly attacking capitalism with clearly little to no understanding about what that means while advocating socialist tenents that they repeatedly admit resulted in the problems they are covering here.

Historia
Exiled to four years in Siberia, but hailed by the end of his life as a saint, prophet, and genius, Fyodor Dostoevsky holds an exalted place among the best of the great Russian authors. One of Dostoevsky’s five major novels, Devils follows the travails of a small provincial town beset by a band of modish radicals - and in so doing presents a devastating depiction of life and politics in late 19th-century Imperial Russia.
