I felt the story added many non essential areas and left out other important information . It felt more like a monologue than storytelling. Susan Smith’s story is a gripping tale, but the author wandered through details and kept the story linear and purposeless. We don’t get any idea of the massive hunt that went on or much about Susan during the whole hunt for her children. It seemed a bit flat to me.

The name, Deceit, is a perfect title as it starts out as the premise and then blossoms into a suspenseful tale of revenge and obsession. Great narration, really enjoyed the story.

Excellent Story with Twists/ A Must Read for Anyone Who has been Stalked!

Just an excellent read for anyone, but a must read if you have ever been the victim of a stalker. The story starts with a woman looking for relatives online and quickly turns into a horror story and mystery who done it. Within you will find lots of information and compassion for other victims. It is always helpful to feel heard.

In closing, it is an exciting story worth a read.

Lots of Information

The story is depressing in how the system is so slated to the rich and powerful. I found this book interesting and filled with tons of information on both Epstein and those in his orbit. A shockingly sad tale of how the justice system fails at punishing those with extreme wealth. Good read, I do recommend it as a look into American jurisprudence.

Slow but Interesting

I thought this was a bit slow with lots of detail. However, it is interesting as it is a true story. Really makes one wonder about the human condition.

Great Information

I thought the whole breakdown of body composition well laid out in this book. Most of the book is easily digestible, with some parts getting a bit scientific, but overall very helpful. I have a little background in health and fitness so I am attracted to the subject. I did learn new facts and it helped me focus in on my nutrition.

How you come to this book will determine if you enjoy it or if it is for you. For those seriously interested in body composition, I believe you will get something out of it.

Too Much Telling and not Enough Showing

The plot line is new and interesting, but I found the characters tedious as they spend much time telling up how they are emotionally and what they are thinking. I would have liked more story and less personal narrative.

I chose this book because I am a big fan of Anne Rice's work. I decided to see where her son will take his work.

Teen Style Story

I found the fairy tale interesting, but the writing feels like a teen story. The narrative is predictable as were the characters. King does give us a new twist on the fairy prince story, but it is told in a narrative more suited for a teenage audience.

The intro to the story is captivating as you are wondering where the story will lead with some interesting mysterious elements. After the initial reveal of the main plot, the story becomes predictable. This is my take as I expected more of an adult themed tale. I guess it depends upon how you come to this book what your experience will be.

Sad Story with a Happy Ending

What a tragedy of abuse, but uplifting because of the strength of the survivors. I was horrified at how long it took for the authorities to take these girls seriously. The corruption of the institutions and people in them allowed this abuse to fester for years affecting so many lives and in some cases devastating families. Unfortunately, women have been preyed upon and had little recourse from society. I am uplifted at the survivors stories and how they are moving into areas of society to help change and prevent abuse from happening in the future.

My heart is with all the survivors and thank you for telling your story.
