Another smutty installment in this addictive series!

I was glad that Ace, Cruz and Rachel finally got their story. It was everything I had hoped for. Sexy, dirty, and oh-so-good!

I listened on audio, and the narrator did a good job. The one thing I have to point out is this: if you like the narrator to give each character a unique voice, you might be disappointed. She tried, but I have to admit, I had a hard time distinguishing one character from the next just based on her voice. It didn't bother me, as I was able to follow along with the story and dialogue cues, but I know that some prefer more of a performance from an audiobook. I'll still listen to this narrator again though.

I can't wait to see what's next for the O'Kanes . . .

Story:

What You Own is both a friends-to-lovers and a second-chance story. In high school, Ryan and Adam were best friends, up until Ryan publicly came out as gay, and Adam's father pressured Adam to break it off. Little did Mr. Langley know, but Adam and Ryan were interested in more than just friendship. Soon after, the two were bashed in a parking lot, and once again Mr. Langley intervenes to keep the two apart. Now, three years later, the two meet again – and the sparks start to fly.

There's some drama involved, but nothing too heavy (not like Arthur's newest release, The Truth as He Knows It). Fans of Arthur will love this sweet romance, watching Ryan and Adam work things out and fall in love. There's ample chemistry, a solid friendship, and a good bit of sweetness involved, especially towards the end when Adam puts his heart on the line for Ryan!

Narrator:

This was actually my first time listening to a male/male romance. Michael Pauley did a wonderful job. He put emotions into the narration, rather than simply reading the words. His voice would speed up during times of high emotion, and deliberately slow down for other situations. His different voices were done well, and he even gave both boys slightly different voices when reading a flashback to their high school years. My only complaint is that sometimes I had a hard time differentiating between when the characters were speaking out loud and when they were thinking to themselves (when the two would occur back to back in a scene). Otherwise, Michael truly brought this story alive and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Meh. That's really all I can say about this book. Was it bad? No way. Was it amazing? Unfortunately not. It was just . . . in the middle. My biggest complaint was the fact that all the sex started so quickly. (GASP -- I know, I know, I love my smexy books, but hear me out!). I wasn't sold on Liz from book 1, but I was willing to give her a second chance in her own book. However, this book starts off with sex pretty quickly, and I didn't yet have a chance to really KNOW Liz and/or change my mind about her. I still can't say I really connected with her or Gavin, although I suppose I liked them enough.

The narrator wasn't the best, either. Her female voices are a bit nasally, and I was able to zone out at times.

Will I read more of Burton's books? Of course; I loved the first book in this series. Will I try this narrator again? Eh, maybe, but I won't be going out of my way to do so.

4 STARS!

Another great read in the series! I admit, Lucia's avoidance of talking to Garreth about her past and secrets got to me after a while, but otherwise I very much enjoyed this book and will, of course, be looking forward to the next in the series.

The narrator does a fantastic job with the Scottish accents for the Lykae -- very eargasmic. When doing other characters, he does a great job as well. Typically I prefer listening to female narrators for romance novels, but in this case I thought Robert Petkoff did a wonderful job.

Between 2 1/2 and 3 Stars

I loved the previous books in this series. And I thought that I would love finally getting Hannah and Marco's story. I was wrong.

The entire story felt too overly dramatic, too immature, and I didn't connect with either Hannah or Marco. I honestly didn't care about their story, and found myself easily zoning out while listening, wondering when it would end. Part of this was due to the narrator, and I'll explain that shortly, but even if I had read this, rather than listened on audio, I would still have felt the same about the lackluster story and characters.

I was confused by all the children of the previous couples -- I couldn't keep them straight. And may I ask what is with two of the previous heroines naming their kids after family? Jos named her kids after her DECEASED mom, dad and sister. o.0 And Ellie named her boy after her half-brother (Jos's husband), shortening the new baby to Bra (I assume that's how it was spelled, based on the pronunciation from the narrator). That just bothered me. I mean, I get it, some people like to name children after grandparents or what not. But naming your kids after your dead parents and sister just seems . . . beyond odd, to me at least.

As to Hannah and Marco . . . I honestly didn't care if they got back together. The ridiculous drama and reactions (from both, mainly Hannah though) regarding their secrets, was f---ing annoying and I was done with it before the 30% mark. And no, not even the sex was able to save the story; I actually zoned out completely during 99% of the sex scenes. I listen while walking my dogs, and for much of the book, but especially the sex scenes, I was walking and thinking of the list of items I needed to do when I got home. While the narrator was yammering on about orgasms and erections. Yeah . . . that's not a good sign, people.

Now, the narrator was horrible. She couldn't give characters different voices for sh*t. I spent half the book trying to figure out who was supposed to be talking. Hell, some of Hannah's high school students had more distinct character voices than Hannah and Marco did and that's NOT a good thing in an audiobook. I also couldn't tell the difference in voices between when Hannah was thinking in her head and when she spoke out loud. Also a bad thing. The narrator's over all voice was just meh, kind of boring and forgettable.

So between the story and the narrator, this was not a good read for me. I highly doubt I'll listen to this particular narrator again. As to Young . . . I'll probably still try another book of hers, hoping that I can find that spark that was in her other books.

Another fun, sexy read from McCarthy! I loved these two together, and the chemistry was off the charts amazing. But they were also sweet and funny together, and I loved watching them fall in love. I'll definitely be back for more of this series, and McCarthy's writing in general. It's a bit addicting. :)

The narrator did a decent job, I'd probably rate her performance between 3 1/2 and 4 stars. At times, the tone of voice she'd give the heroine was beyond annoying, but as the story went on, either she dropped that annoying habit or I was able to overlook it for the sake of the story. I'd listen to this narrator again, but I wouldn't say she's a top favorite.

My first time reading Jen Frederick, but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed Undeclared. The story was sweet, but sexy, with a nice dash of fun and humor thrown in. :) I think my favorite parts where the letters they wrote to each other. I have a weakness for letter writing in my romance novels.

I enjoyed listening and the two narrators did a good job. I'll be looking for the rest of this series very soon!

4 1/2 STARS!

Why, oh why did I wait so long to read Jaci Burton's Play by Play series? WHY? The covers . . . *dies* The sex . . . *shudders* It's a double whammy!

I loved Mick and Tara, they were amazing together -- in bed and out! :D The sex was off the charts, of course, but these two had great chemistry outside of the bedroom, and more importantly they had a real connection.

Mick is quite the dreamy hero. Sexy, caring, strong . . . I loved him. *happy sigh*

Tara is also a strong heroine; I really liked her and could easily see having her as a friend.

And Nathan was great, too. I'm not always a fan of children (or, in this case, teens) in romance novels, but I had no issue with Nathan.

All in all, I loved this book and will be coming back for more!

I can't say the narrator was my favorite, but she wasn't bad. I'd put her performance at about average, say 3 1/2 stars.

The story gets a solid 4 1/2 stars.

Where does Wicked Cravings rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty high; great narrator, great story!

What did you like best about this story?

The strong characters -- heroes and heroines. The smexy goodness, which was so damn hot. The fun interactions and jokes, the sarcastic humor that I get so well . . . the list goes on and on!

Which scene was your favorite?

Oh, too many to pick. :D

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Alpha heroes, kick-ass heroines, and wickedly delicious sex -- welcome to the Phoenix Pack.

Any additional comments?

4 1/2 STARS!

I can't stop recommending the Phoenix Pack. Extremely sexy, with true alpha males, and strong females that give their men shit. With light moments, a fun voice and characters that I fell for quickly in book 1 and can't wait to see more of.

If you're looking for a new shapeshifter series to fall for, this is it. Trust me!

I listened on audio, and the narrator did a wonderful job; I have no real complaints. But because I love this series so much, I've also bought Kindle copies to reread again and again. I can't wait to read more from this series; I have book 3 waiting on my Audible list, though I'm trying to pace myself, since the series isn't complete yet. :D

Between 4 and 4 1/2 Stars -- much closer to 4 1/2, really.

I love this series, for a variety of reasons (mainly, um, Scotland and heroes with accents!). Before Jamaica Lane was no different, I loved Nate and Olivia's story. Young's steamiest novel so far, and I loved every dirty minute of it!

I did have some issues with the drama over Nate's dead-ex. I felt it was over played on his end, and while I could understand how it hurt Olivia when he broke it off, I also wanted to smack her because of her reaction to it. Come one, Olivia, he came back and said he wanted to be with you forever -- not that he wanted to be just friends again, or be fuck buddies again. But no, you pushed him away again. *sigh* It took a while for them to work everything out, and while I had moments where I wanted to smack both of them until they realized the truth, over all I loved their relationship, their easy, fun banter and chemistry and sweet moments. :)

I listened on audio, and the narrator (Lee Angel) did a pretty good job, I don't really have any complaints at all. I'd listen to more audiobooks from her.

I'll be rereading this series again and again, and I can't wait to read more from Young.
