Historia
Francis Marion was probably the most romantic figure to emerge from the American Revolutionary War. Of Huguenot ancestry, Marion was descended from a French family fleeing the religious persecutions of Louis XIV. Listen to this great history as you learn how Marion used guerrilla tactics to defeat one British force after another. It is a thrilling tale of patriotism, determination, and sacrifice.

Got the book first
Revisado: 01-26-25
I found the old language little difficult to read, so really appreciated the audible and read along when I could. I would consider this to be the best historical and accurate account for the Swamp Fox. Not too sure of some pronunciations, though. We pronounce Horry with a silent “h” and Pee Dee, not P’dee. Would like to know if the given pronunciations were authentic to the period.

Narrator is awesome
Revisado: 12-21-22
Thoroughly enjoyed this series and the two interviews. But especially, I want to acknowledge the narrator with his many voices. Really unbelievable range and variety.

An incredible man
Revisado: 07-20-20
Being a conservative all of my life, I was overwhelmed by the integrity and humility of this man. I would never agree with social policies of today’s democrats, but I’m pretty sure Truman would not, either. I enjoyed the 54 hours, entirely.

C. S. Lewis's dazzling allegory about Heaven and Hell - and the chasm fixed between them - is one of his most brilliantly imaginative tales, where we discover that the gates of Hell are locked from the inside. In a dream, the narrator boards a bus on a drizzly afternoon in Hell and embarks on an incredible voyage to Heaven. Anyone in Hell is invited on board, and anyone may remain in Heaven if he or she so chooses. But do we really want to live in Heaven?

Historia
Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has been there only a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.

Could have been better
Revisado: 04-27-18
Having read several Baldacci books, I’d have to say this one does not measure up. Particularly did not like the voice and characterization of 5 or 6 year old Zoe.

Historia
When marine engineer and very part-time spook Tom Dugan becomes collateral damage in the War on Terror, he's not about to take it lying down. Falsely implicated in a hijacking, he's offered a chance to clear himself by helping the CIA snare their real prey, Dugan's best friend, London ship owner Alex Kairouz. Reluctantly, Dugan agrees to go undercover in Alex's company, despite doubts about his friend's guilt. Once undercover, Dugan's steadfast refusal to accept Alex's guilt puts him at odds not only with his CIA superiors, but also with a beautiful British agent with whom he's romantically involved.

Great story
Revisado: 02-08-17
Really enjoyed this maritime adventure. A little hard to keep straight with the characters, so many of them; but the narrator's diversity of ascents was helpful and very well done.
Will definitely recommend.

Historia
The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

Funny & interesting
Revisado: 01-20-15
Loved the dry humor. Interesting portrayal of lawyers and large corporations. Somewhat surprised, pleasantly, with the conclusion of the primary case.
