Missing the Mickey and Maggie story

The last book ended with Mickey and Maggie back together. I was so happy! This book didn’t even mention her until about 3/4 through and in it she is against him in court, but we’re never given an explanation of what led to this breakup and antagonist behavior. Very confusing, as if I missed a book in the middle of the series. I’m so bummed! Otherwise, great writing.

Start with the ORIGINAL Read Aloud Handbook

I didn’t realize this was a “book about the book” essentially. I didn’t realize “Read Aloud Handbook” was different from the Read Aloud Family. I’ve still loved this book, and felt inspired by it, but it would have made so much more sense to me if I started with the original Read Aloud Handbook (which I’m reading now).

Such a comforting and truth filled message!

Lisa is one of THE BEST at reading audio books. I loved how each chapter drilled down into each different areas of our life that God knows, perhaps when it’s too painful to articulate it to others (yet). I especially loved the areas of God knowing the dreams that he put into our heart, he knows the pain of rejection and our temptation to get revenge, and since he knows the future, we can rest in that and not try to control every area of our lives. Thank you Lisa for your vulnerability. I’m grateful how God has used your family’s story for good and glory!

It was so wonderful to hear Beth’s life story as someone I’ve looked up to for so long. From her upbringing in the Baptist church, to her personal family stories. It really helps you see what made Beth who she is. I hope those who have been so rough on her politically will read this and have compassion on her. I hope her brothers in Christ will reach out as well. I’ve so grateful for her transparency. I pray for Keith’s continued health and God’s favor on her as a teacher for the rest of her days!

I’ve been considering homeschooling, and now feel more confident than ever! I loved the Biblical support as well. I hadn’t even thought of those verses in this context. Thank you! Definitely what i would recommend for any homeschooling mother.

Must read for coaches and refs

I read this as a way to love my husband who loves hockey. He was surprised that even he didn’t know some of the nitty gritty facts in this book. Some of it was presented in a very straightforward but very boring way. I wish the reader had some enthusiasm as he read. The reader also mispronounced several words. But it’s only an hour long listen! Really breaks down the rules which is why I say if you’re transitioning from player to coach (even coaching kids), or player to ref, spend the hour listening to this book. You need the info!

A must read for understanding Classical Education

I’m planning to put my children in a Classical, University Model school. I grew up in a great public school, but have no knowledge of classical education except that it’s supposed to be superior. This helped me understand why. I’m so excited to learn along with my kids as they go through this.

Profoundly helpful, simple, concise explanation on the why of Complementarianism

I am so grateful for this book. It explores the texts that bring up the most questions with clarity (no dancing around the issue with fluff, which I appreciate!). I only gave 4 stars for performance because I wish it was Kathy herself doing the reading. The reader did a fine job though.
