Historia
As Vieliessar confronts the first waves of the forces of Darkness, her destined Bondmate, Runacar, leads a rag-tag group to war. For centuries, the Elves have hunted the Otherfolk - minotaurs, gryphons, dryads, and more - considering them beasts. But they have a complex society, Runacar discovers, and though he is an Elf, takes it as his mission to help them reclaim their lands from his former friends and allies.

please don't use this reader again.
Revisado: 03-31-19
It woud be going along jus fine until the female reader would say minataur as mine-ataur, instead of min-ataur. It jangled the story for several sentences before I could get back into the Story.

Historia
It was stolen from a New Orleans grave - the centuries-old bust of an evil man, a demonic man. It’s an object desired by collectors - and by those with wickedness in their hearts. One day, its current owner shows up at Danni Cafferty’s antiques shop on Royal Street, the shop she inherited from her father. But before Danni can buy the statue, it disappears, the owner is found dead…and Danni discovers that she’s inherited much more than she realized. In the store is a book filled with secret writing: instructions for defeating evil entities. She’d dismissed it as a curiosity...until the arrival of this statue.

Not as impressed as I thought I'd be.
Revisado: 11-26-18
The first thing I wasn't impressed with is the reader. I know she tries hard and yet her voice isn't right for this story. The second thing is the jumps in the book. They are a bit jaring. The one I noticed first is where Cafferty is with Quin shortly after they've dealt with the cops and then she's at home thinking about Quin
Next is there is so much more that can be done with this story. It dorsn't feel fully fleshed out. I've thoroughly enjoyed the Crew of Hunters series, but I'm not sure I'm going to bother with more of this series.

Historia
The world had become used to the metahumans - people sometimes perfectly ordinary, but sometimes quite extraordinary in appearance - who mostly worked with their governments as high-powered peace officers, fighting crime, and sometimes fighting rogue metahumans who had become super-criminals. Then that comfortable world ended in just one terrifying day.

this series as a part of my "reading" material if I didn't think this wasn't well written.

Historia
The last camel is dead, and Egyptologist Amelia Peabody, her dashing husband, Emerson, and precocious son, Ramses, are in dire straits on the sun-scorched desert sands. Months before, back in cool, green England, Viscount Blacktower had approached them to find his son and his son's new bride, who have been missing in war-torn Sudan for over a decade. An enigmatic message scrawled on papyrus and a cryptic map had been delivered to Blacktower, awakening his hope that the couple was still alive.

Good story, wrong voice.
Revisado: 04-24-15
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Anyone who thinks a high squeaky voice for the characters is fine.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I've long loved all the characters in these stories because they are so epic and grand.
Would you be willing to try another one of Susan O'Malley’s performances?
No, I hate to say it but her voice hurts my ears.
What character would you cut from The Last Camel Died at Noon?
None.
Any additional comments?
I have all the books in this series and I love this series. I've read many of the books in physical form as well as listening to them from here or from the local library before I got signed on here. Barbara Rosenblat is the reader who does the best for this series. She can get all the voices sounding like who they are supposed to be.

Modern Day Sam Spade?
Revisado: 04-21-14
Would you try another book from Jim Butcher and/or James Marsters?
Not through any audio file. I think Jim Butcher's book would be better being read as hard copy.
Would you ever listen to anything by Jim Butcher again?
Probably not because I'd always hear the story in James Marster voice instead of who ever else reads the story.
Would you be willing to try another one of James Marsters’s performances?
I don't thing so, or I will debate with myself for a long time before I chance it again. While there are parts of the story that his breathing adds to the story, for the most part it detracts from the story and makes me think of the old Sam Spade/Humphrey Bogart kind of monotone
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The plot is wonderful, I enjoyed the twists and turns and the adding of the old legends to modern day.
