Most unlikable main character that is suffering survivors guilt upon learning as an adult she was one of two embryos to develop. So now the tragedy haunts her. Didn't get pass chapter 3.

I have been a DK fan since high school..stone age. 1st book was Lightning. i have read most of his work but not a big fan of newer series. This I was pulling all nighters with. The suspense was driving me crazy, lol. Nice ending and likable characters. All the best ingredients.

Great story..
Revisado: 04-05-20
Loved the story, the whiny tone was so offputting. I may have enjoyed it more if I had read it myself instead of the audible version. But great story nonetheless.

Unfortunately it's digital...

Otherwise I would have thrown it across the room at the midpoint. I was truly enjoying it during my to and from work commute until the absurd and unnecessary violations of these women. As if being raped and brutalized was just a sign of the times. I hate leaving things unfinished but I could not continue, I almost wish the author had stopped the book at the end of part 1.

The story is ok but the main character is so unlikable and melodramatic. Plus for me the monotone narration was so irritating.
