Painful
Revisado: 01-16-24
Very drawn out, voice if reader was almost childlike. Especially when she tried to voice a man. Often sounded like it was recorded in her living room. Detail were often sketchy. Hiding a drive in a German Sheppard fur, they are short coated. Autistic detail were few and minimally researched. Would not recommend this book to anyone.

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-13-24
I was excited to learn more about Amy as a person and how her Jeopardy experience affected her. The book started out to be interesting and informative. It bogged down in the middle where she over exemplified her own personal philosophies. Most of which was very boring. I really didn’t think this was the format to go into Tarot cards and such non essential detail regarding her drug use. I enjoyed parts that talked about how she processes information, but really had to make myself listen to the center section. The last part again delved into her trans experience and becoming comfortable with who she has become. This was informative and genuine.

Narrators inability to pronounce words correctly was VERY distracting from the story.
Revisado: 11-29-23
Although the story was somewhat drawn out, the narrator made me NUTS. Just a few examples: Pronouncing “two souled” for tousled, “East ra gen” for estrogen, “Yah gert” for yogurt, and “prah test” for protest. Very distracting. Hope other books in series has a better narrator.

Painful!!!
Revisado: 09-23-21
This story is painfully slow. The character building often repeats itself over and over which allows the listener to remain in the same spot forever. The narrator's voice is tinny and very annoying as well. Save your audible credits for something worth listening to.

Not an easy listen
Revisado: 03-03-20
I have tried three times to get into this book. The multi-generational-century characters switch back and forth so that you don't know who is talking. Then the author throws in a ghost! you don't know which character the ghost is. Not a fun book to read, poor story line and very disjointed.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Historia
In 1958 Detroit, neighbors on Alder Avenue struggle to care for one another amid a city rife with conflicts that threaten their peaceful street. Grace, Alder’s only expectant mother, eagerly awaits her firstborn; her best friend, Julia, prepares to welcome twin nieces; and Malina sets the tone with her stylish dresses, tasteful home, and ironfisted stewardship of St. Alban’s bake sale. Life erupts when childlike Elizabeth disappears while in the care of Grace and Julia. All the ladies fear that the recent murder of a black woman at the factory on Willingham Avenue where their husbands work may portend what has become of Elizabeth.

Boring!

What would have made Until She Comes Home better?
Don't waste your time. Poor character development, lots of skipping around without notification to the reader; making it difficult to realize who is who. Story is weak, little if any imagination.
What do you think your next listen will be?
No
How could the performance have been better?
Written by another person
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Until She Comes Home?
