Behind them hides an individual who may connect Ed to the mighty Heroes, the unbeatable machines of the Light.

This latest installment took me and my imagination, and dragged us through an experience like no other: I found myself with hopes and dreams and an entirely new life in a strange world. I feel fulfilled from the story and empty for it having an end. Im waitng for more in the best way possible, but dang, I might just start it again to experienxe it on more time.

Delicious like the last piece of cake
Revisado: 06-09-23
The final book delivers struggle, power and satisfaction in spades. Despite seeing the overall shape of the picture, the journey remained engagjng and suspensful.
Overall this is a beautifully concluded series that you're sad to finish, but know you enjoyed every step of the way. The shine on this book is enough to see your own reflection in. Metaphorically speaking - it's not a mirror.
Stop reading this and go enjoy it!

Historia
Born over a century after "The Rise", Jeff scavenges with his tyrannical mother for survival. Banned from cultivating freely, Jeff wants none of this life; his one objective is to join the immortal rankers as they attempt to climb the Northern Tower. On the day of his escape, a powerful guild attacks Leah’s group, and Jeff is thrown through a unique dungeon portal—a portal that hasn’t been used in nearly a hundred years. In the pursuit of Jeff’s ultimate goal, he must choose whether to follow the Church, join a guild, or try it all on his own.

A good start
Revisado: 10-14-22
I enjoyed it, the MC clearly has some growing to do, but the mechanics seem interesting with lots of potential world building ahead!
The preformance was quite good, but sometimes felt over-emphasized. Overall added much more quality than distracted.

Historia
Koren Bladewell now knows he is a wizard, but he is lost in the wilderness, cut off from help, and unable to use his powers. The enemy is poised at the border with an overwhelming invasion force, and it will take wizards, soldiers and a young, untested princess to hold off defeat long enough for Koren to be trained and grow into his power. But he might not wish to help those who deceived him and destroyed his life.

Like a potato - a staple, but not fancy.
Revisado: 04-26-22
Nothing wrong with a good staple, and obviously I listened to the whole thing so I was hooked enough to not give up (listened at 2.0 speed mostly). Great narration.
It felt like the author's publicist or manager just made him write a fantasy trilogy: character growth was minimal, the magic that's austensibly an important part plays a minor role to most of the MC's problems. Miscommunication and misinterpretation were the main plot point drivers. The magic was largely ill-defined hand waiving system, but it felt unearned with the most compliant MC in the world.
SPOILERS AHEAD
All this time was spent building up Corin's angst, only for him to basically shrug it off as reasonable behaviours of those around him.
It's one thing to have a grandstanding spaceship captain bullshitting to put a spin on a simple solution, but it's another to just let the MC's magic senses lead him to a "just go kill the enemy" solution.
The unresolved restoration of magic powers at the end just leaves so many loose ends: is it a tragic marriage of a long lived wizard to a mortal then? Does Corin teach himself magic, and what are his limits? Does the kingdom become an empire? Where did the demon even come from and why? bleh. I certainly am marking this as the final book in the series, regardless of whether there's more.

Historia
Jax is a pretty regular guy, has a job he tolerates, a girl he kinda, sorta loves...and he fights creatures from the UnderVerse in his sleep, leaving him covered in horrific scars when he wakes up. When his brother vanishes, and five years later he's kidnapped as well, he's given a stark choice by his asshat of a father: Go to the UnderVerse in reality, travel to the capitol of that ruined realm at the center of reality, and open a portal for the Noble Houses to return home...or die.

Entertaining story, distracting volume changes
Revisado: 06-28-21
The narrator is enthusiastic, and honestly has potential, but the volume change based on the voice is ridiculous. I constantly had to adjust the volume whenever the system announcer yelled anything, because it was literal yelling, and then readjust because of the low growl of the MC being too quiet by comparison. Equalize the volume please.

Historia
Digby Graves, a deceased medieval peasant with delusions of grandeur, is trying to figure out how the hell he ended up in Seattle eight hundred years after his death. Also, why does he have necrotic magic coursing through his zombified body? Added to that is the fact that he made a terrible first impression the moment he woke up by lunging at the first person that came into biting range. Now, the curse he unleashed is loose in the world.

A bitingly good time
Revisado: 04-08-21
I devoured this book, and it's fun rapscalion portrayal from a *slightly* misunderstood perspective. For the end of the world, for friendship, and for unknown commitments to mysterious entities who definitely won't be anything but helpful down the road. Enjoy this treat.

Historia
Death cultivator Grady Hake thought his problems would disappear when he and his friends became members of the strongest gang on the prison planet, but all it did was thrust them into the kill-or-be-killed world of the Eight-Legged Dragons. As Hake undergoes the trials of his gang, he'll discover there's a deadlier force on the prison planet than the death cultivator, even deadlier than the Angel of Death, and it wants his soul. Learning to cloak his lethal Spirit attacks in oblivion might help Hake rise through the ranks, but it won't keep him and his friends alive.

Book 2 Delivers Intensity
Revisado: 12-21-20
This story metaphorically grabbed me and pulled me out of a plane to go skydiving. Except I didn't even know I was on a plane. Or that I had a parachute. It's that intense.
The story maintains a lot of mystery around cultivation, but wow does it pack a fast paced punch plot wise. Some aspects become clearer about it (never a long info dump), and it seems like no character is ever wasted. I love it and can't wait to see who pops up down the road!
I just wish the books are longer, but given all the pieces being set up on this galactic multi-dimensional world, I'm pretty sure my wish will be granted in book 3!
