Historia
At Christmas, Laura Fleming lived her fantasy adventure. Paid to house-sit for the fabulously wealthy financier, C.W. Banley, while he traveled, she eagerly headed for New York City. As mistress of his elegant townhouse, she baked cookies and dressed the old gent's richly-furnished residence for the holidays. As December rolled around, the lonely, lovely writer eagerly anticipated soaking up the Christmas atmosphere in the grand city. With only the cat for company, she'd turn Banley's elegant home into a wonderland of sparkling lights, fragrant garland, and shiny tinsel.

House sitter's Christmas
Revisado: 02-17-19
I liked the story but the man who read parts of it drove me nuts. When a person spoke and he would say George said. I would find myself waiting for what George said. If that is the writer's fault, then fix that!

Terrible
Revisado: 07-20-18
I have never wanted to throw a book across a room until this one. Stupid, terrible story, poor writing. Don't waste time or money on this one.

Wow... enough twists and turns
Revisado: 06-24-18
This kept me stuck to my earphones! I HAD to find out where it was going because it didn't make sense...until the end...but it had so many convoluted twists and turns it was like doing switchbacks continually up Schweitzer Mountain to the ski resort! Cher R

Historia
The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

I really love John Grisham, but at times this book went on and on with details that could have been tightened up. The story was superb, tho
