Simply WOW
Revisado: 04-07-25
I picked this book up because it was recommended to me. But after just 10 minutes I was hooked and I could not put it down. Even more, the ideas in the book changed something in me and in the way I see the world.
Some of the ideas in the book I also had for a long time, and my friends thought I was crazy when I was talking about them.
Now I believe them even more, because I found someone that saw things in a similar way.
This is a mind-blowing book I totally recommend.

Simply amazing
Revisado: 03-30-25
I picked this book up from curiosity. I finished it because it was amazing. I learned so many fascinating things about the body and how food works. There is one thing that the author keeps repeating and it remained in my mind "it's not about what's in the food, it'd about what was done to the food".
I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in theirand their family's health.

In this myth-busting book, Daniel Lieberman, professor of human evolutionary biology at Harvard University and a pioneering researcher on the evolution of human physical activity, tells the story of how we never evolved to exercise - to do voluntary physical activity for the sake of health. Using his own research and experiences throughout the world, Lieberman recounts without jargon how and why humans evolved to walk, run, dig, and do other necessary and rewarding physical activities while avoiding needless exertion.

Interesting book, I enjoyed it
Revisado: 09-08-24
This is an interesting book. At times I felt like it was written only to promote the Spartan races. But I could relate to some of the stories of athletes in the book because I was in similar situations once.
I recommend this book for everyone who's thinking about building mental strength though physical challenges.

Revisado: 08-25-24
For a long time I was struggling with the idea that I should not allow my 3 years old access to screens. I've built a career in software development and I understand the danger that screens poses to your brains, but then everyone around me told me I was nuts.
This book was a great read and a reminder that this is a fight worth fighting.
I definitely recommend this book to every parent out there.

Not recommended - politics where there should not be any
Revisado: 12-10-23
The story was ok but I simply do not appreciate the politics being involved.
In a world where confused teenagers are struggling with their identity we do not need stories that reinforce this confusion.
I do not recommend.

Historia
Most people believe that the best way to motivate is with rewards like money - the carrot-and-stick approach. That's a mistake, says Daniel H. Pink (author of To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Motivating Others). In this provocative and persuasive new book, he asserts that the secret to high performance and satisfaction - at work, at school, and at home - is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world.

Revisado: 04-05-23
I was pleasantly surprised about the idea of motivation operating system.
The author explains the new insights into human motivation, presenting the difference between what science knows about motivation and what business does.
Also you can learn about how you can tap into the human desire for autonomy and purpose to transform how you live and work.
An amazing book, I recommend it.

Even the smartest among us can feel inept as we fail to figure out which light switch or oven burner to turn on, or whether to push, pull, or slide a door. The fault, argues this ingenious - even liberating - audiobook, lies not in ourselves, but in product design that ignores the needs of users and the principles of cognitive psychology. The Design of Everyday Things shows that good, usable design is possible. The rules are simple: make things visible, exploit natural relationships that couple function and control, and make intelligent use of constraints.

I had so much fun listening to this book.
Design is fascinating and I think the more you learn about how people came up with the solution to a problem, the more you can understand how the world around us work.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who want to understand how some of the everyday things were designed and why.

A very interesting perspective on parenting
Revisado: 03-24-23
This was one of the most interesting parenting books I have read so far. I love the concepts described in this book.
Reading this book I realized how important is for kids to spend time outside, to explore and discover. As a dad, I started to apply concepts from the book right away and my little one had a blast.
We are now spending time outside exploring everyday, no matter how the weather is.
I totally recommend the book.
