Great series. This one was pretty good.
Revisado: 11-10-21
The book is part of the Scott Horvath series And as would be expected it is a continuation of all past novels. The 1st 2 books had a completely different narrator who was far and away superior. This fellow while he is clearly a clearly a mature and distinguished gentleman his ability to replicate accents from various cultures is poor. That does not take away from the fact that the book is still very interesting. However it leaves a weird taste in my mouth when Accents are inappropriately used and misused misused. The story is Lori is interesting and horrific at times Especially when at times the protagonist the protagonist makes ridiculous mistakes and gets caught with his pants down when a supposed agent of his caliber would never do so. I still enjoy reading these books or rather listening to these books while I'm in the car stuck in traffic or while I am cycling around in Santa Monica. It's a great way to pass the time without having to think do think about reality.. Happy listening!

this book was action packed with a very different Gentry. making him vulnerable, weak, ill but determined as ever was an interesting shift. I liked the trifecta of the poison apple assets and their synergy immensely. looking forward to the next series of books.

I enjoyed listening to this book however it was more or less an accident because I had not read any of the other books in the series. when do we appears I had no idea who he was so the impact and impressiveness of his character was left completely unknown to me. I would have liked more information about Tacoma's relationship with the other agent because it was clear there is a romantic connection between them. otherwise I liked the action, the fighting, the killing and everything else. the details regarding the equipment he used and helicopters that were flown, in my humble opinion, who were superfluous and or no added value. I thought the narrator was good and his fake Russian / Slavic accents were okay. it's worth a listen and I plan on reading the entire series.

Very entertaining
Revisado: 12-02-20
the master CIA thriller series is a compilation of three books. there are three stories that are connected like train cars. the same characters are in all three books. the treachery the lies, the deceit, the danger, and the thrill continually increases with each new chapter. Clint Masters, the protagonist, is both the hero and the unwitting dupe as well as in some cases the villain. the coup that ruins Clint he's a bit far-fetched in that his Fall from Grace is so incredibly dramatic and unlikely in the real world that I didn't give it five stars. if there had been a bit more realism and a lot less spy novel fantasy stuff the book would have been better. nevertheless for a commuter this type of thriller is entertaining and passes the time with ease. there was no time when I had to stay in the car and continue to listen. enjoy the book it's a good read.

What an epic story of love and survival!
Revisado: 11-05-20
this is a story of two people and their families enduring the worst possible moment in history. world war II in Italy was an Insidious invasion and internal recruitment of a population unlike anywhere else in the world . the Jewish Italians lived in Italy harmoniously for millennia. for the fascists to have recruited countless seemingly normal citizens of Italy and using them to round up, betray, rob, rape and murder the Jews of Italy is beyond reproach. the story of Angelo Bianco and Eva Roselli is beautiful and timeless. there were so many moments in this piece where I was without breath and in tears. tears of joy as well as tears of overwhelming admiration for selflessness and kindness. I loved this book and would recommend it to everyone. it was so beautiful. I believe one of the things about this book that resonated with me was that being a Jewish Italian is no less an Italian nor a Jew but both. this is especially important to me because this is exactly my background. most people have a hard time wrapping their heads around an Italian who isn't automatically a Catholic or at least a Christian but the reality is Italian people are just as diverse as any other. sure the overwhelming majority are Catholic but the culture of being Italian, the common thread that binds all of us is our tradition and the religion is not in the center of that but it adds to it. anyway listen to the book it's fantastic.

Historia
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

Revisado: 10-16-20
Ms. Wilkerson is nothing short of phenomenal in every possible way. The parallels she draws between the Black Experience, the Dalits in India and Nazi Germany are remarkable. After listening, you'll see just how intuitive the similarities are while repeatedly saying "uh huh" and "oh yeah" with each revelation. The author is brilliant, kind and understanding. She is able to tell painful stories in a nonjudgmental manner which is remarkable. I would never be so considerate. This should be mandatory reading for everyone without exception.

Historia
A powerful, moving memoir - and a practical guide to healing - written by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, an eminent psychologist whose own experiences as a Holocaust survivor help her treat patients and allow them to escape the prisons of their own minds. The Choice weaves Eger's personal story with case studies from her work as a psychologist. Her patients and their stories illustrate different phases of healing and show how people can choose to escape the prisons they construct in their minds and find freedom, regardless of circumstance.

I loved the book. I have nothing but praise and gratitude except for small thing, the narrator. she was not Hungarian. Her pseudoslavic accent was not what I needed or wanted to hear. I lived in Hungary for a decade and can spot that accent anywhere. This was Russian or Ukrainian and her pronouncing if the Hungarian language was atrocious.
