I read a review before I listened to this book about the narrator whispering. I listened to the sample and thought, oh it's fine, I've heard other narrators that whisper a lot. But as I listened to Truth and Lies, I realized it really was eight full hours of whispering. While I believe this book could be great, I struggled to get through it because I couldn't get past the narration. I did complete the book cuz, my momma didn't raise a quitter. Unfortunately, I will likely not listen to the rest of the books in the series as they are narrated by the same individual. If you can get past the whispering. congratulations!

The Housemaid started off slow but quickly turned into, "Wait, what?" type of book. I don't write reviews often, so trust me when I say, this book is worth the credit.

A Real Thriller

I. Just. Can't.

I tried, I really tried but I can't finish this book. The premise is not optimal (men that take advantage of women to make porn), but I new that at purchase and 2 books 1 credit... ok. Even when I look for a trashy read, I actually need a plot and good writing. I can listen to romance and pointless sex but this book is beyond pointless sex. No one is as horney as these characters. The narrators were good but even Sebastian York could not save this book.
I have only requested Audible refund my credit 3 times in that last 5 or 6 years because I chose the book but I'll be asking for my refund and 4 hours of my life back.

A Bit Violent in Parts but Worth It

I actually love this book. It's the first I've read from the author. It does have some triggers ( rape, attack, violence) but I wouldn't call it unnecessary. I think the other wanted to communicate the scene and how evil the attacker was. For me, it says my hyper sensitivity to my own safety is valid. Overall, I'd recommend this book lovers of mystery, & psychological thrillers

I Couldn't Finish

I used to love James Patterson but I'm sad to say this will be my last. I made it about half way through The Murder House before I decided I could spend my quarantine listening to something that held my interest not just made me even more bored. The story didn't seem to move. I usually like dual narrators but even they were dry. Don't waste the credit on this one.

Unbelievable in the Best Way

The God's of Guilt may actually be better than the original Lincoln Lawyer. I highly recommend reading the Mickey Haller series in order.

Struggling Narrator

I was looking for a new series but I don't know if I'll be back for book 2. I made it past the gore with ease but story line was a little weak. I think I'm just looking for something more involved with smart people. I'm not really interested in a woman that has police at her disposal but still runs off alone and get caught by the bad guy.
The narrator was just awful. I understand she reading a book but the over annunciation was just too much. I almost stopped listening after two hours because I was so annoyed with the the narrator clipping words.

Honest, telling of who you could be
