Historia
Best-selling author Lisa Wingate serves up small-town values with humor and romance. Lauren hasn't returned to her hometown since her husband's death. But when her dad needs her help, she heads for their horse ranch in Daily, Texas. There she must prepare a "broke down" race horse for his role in a movie that will alter the fortunes of her dad, a Hollywood star, and a screenwriter.

Texas females should not sound like Gomer Pyle
Revisado: 06-23-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not in audio version. Horrible narration.
What did you like best about this story?
Story okay.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Johanna Parker?
I don't know. Anybody that wouldn't be a constant distraction trying to make a character sound southern...and just making her sound stupid...or exactly like Gomer Pyle.
Do you think Word Gets Around needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
probably not...

Historia
At 32, Kimberly Rossetti, a finance officer at a Lexus car dealership, has had her heart broken more times than she wants to remember. With two failed engagements and a divorce, and again alone with no prospects, she hardly seems the type to dream of being a published romance author. Dreading another holiday alone, she signs up for The Mistletoe Retreat, a nine-day writing retreat in Savannah, Georgia. Deep inside Kimberly knows she's at a junction in her life, and it's time to either fulfill her dream or let it go.

Chicken Cordon Blah!
Revisado: 01-14-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, entertaining story in spite of narrator errors.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Very distracting when the narrator mispronounces words. The first time she said Chicken Cordon Blah (Bleu...properly pronounced Blue!) I thought it was part of a joke in the story and waited for the punch line. Then she did it again and it was obvious she was clueless.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

slow moving train story
Revisado: 02-18-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No, slow moving story.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Maybe write it from a third party perspective. Switching back and forth between the characters telling their story dragged.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Not bad, but not great.
Could you see The Girl on the Train being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No.

author pushing personal agenda
Revisado: 02-18-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I was turned off by the introduction of the lesbian relationship about half way through the book. From that point on I felt the story line suffered while she promoted that lifestyle.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It was a good mystery. The ending wasn't a big surprise, but there were some interesting twists.
Have you listened to any of Susan Bennett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't know if I've listened to her performances before.
Could you see The Silent Sister being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
It could.
Any additional comments?
I probably will not read any more of her books because I don't enjoy books that promote personal agendas and are so thinly veiled as preaching the authors lifestyle or preferences.

Life in America, however, presents problems for Young Ju's family.

Narration is painfully boring
Revisado: 10-18-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The book may be fine. I read the reviews that said to ignore the slow start. However, I did some fast forwarding and the narration didn't get better.
What was most disappointing about An Na’s story?
Didn't hear the entire story. The narration put me to sleep, multiple times!
Would you be willing to try another one of Jina Oh’s performances?
no
What character would you cut from A Step From Heaven?
unknown
Any additional comments?
no

Boring...
Revisado: 02-13-12
Would you try another book from Nevada Barr and/or Barbara Rosenblat?
From Barbara Rosenblat, but not from Nevada Barr
What could Nevada Barr have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
More interraction with characters, less narration, more interesting story line.
What didn’t you like about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance?
Her performance was fine, she didn't have good material to work with.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Track of the Cat?
Most of them...they were very long and drawn out.
Any additional comments?
I was excited to try another author with a series, but I won't be reading any more of her books.
