Historia
In 1524, in what is now Germany, hundreds of thousands of peasants revolt against the harsh treatment by their aristocratic overlords. Agnes, the daughter of one of these overlords, is not a typical 16th-century girl. She refuses to wear dresses and spends more time with her pet falcon than she does trying to attract potential suitors. In fact there is only one man who interests her: Mathis, a childhood friend whom she can never marry because of his lowly birth.

Best Story Read in a Long Time
Revisado: 01-23-16
If you could sum up Nightblade in three words, what would they be?
Really awesome story
What other book might you compare Nightblade to and why?
It reminded me a bit of Lian Hearn's books combined with fantasy! It's the Asian components of the book that reminded me of Lian Hearn's book such as Across the Nightingale's Floor.
What about Andrew Tell’s performance did you like?
Yes, I loved his voice it matched the story perfectly!!!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The last scenes of the book and the torture experienced. It brought tears to my eyes.
Any additional comments?
Can't wait for the next one!

Hard to follow
Revisado: 05-20-15
It was really hard to follow the narrative before each chapter. I just felt like I didn't have enough context to understand and the information was floating in the air. By the time those narrative became relevant (a few chapters later) I had already forgotten what was said, unfortunately. I DO LOVE THE CHARACTERS THOUGH! And Michael Kramer & Kate Reading were EXCELLENT as usually!

Historia
So what would Al Gore choose if he had a book club? Gore named Stendhal's The Red and the Black, a 19th century classic chock full of adultery, betrayal, and moral vacuity, as his favorite book on a recent broadcast of Oprah. It's a bit shocking of a choice, given his wife and running mate's position on clean, wholesome literature. Listen and decide for yourself the merit of this presidential pick.

Very Entertaining!
Revisado: 03-19-13
Would you listen to Ghosts: Edith Wharton's Gothic Tales again? Why?
I would definitely listen to Ghosts again. It was a fun listen and I plan to share it with others.
What did you like best about this story?
I like that the stories were short and the plots were almost innocent in nature. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to Edith Wharton's classics before and she did not disappoint with her fun Gothic Tales.
If you could take any character from Ghosts: Edith Wharton's Gothic Tales out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Definitely Mr. Jones! LOL
Any additional comments?
If you are looking for a quick break from your normal reads, this is a great book to distract you.
