I couldn't help but that every time Dick Hill spoke he sounded more and more like Marvel's own Stan Lee was narrating this book. Also, there were times were I would have to rewind a bit because some of his narration was hard to understand...not sure if that was because of the voices he was doing or because of the final recording. But don't let that detour you from this book. the story is one of the best in the Reacher series which makes our hero more human. Meaning this time around when he takes a punch Reacher feels it for days compared to previous books in which he seem pretty much untouchable/indestructible.

80s Pop Culture Flashback

What did you like best about Armada? What did you like least?

As with Ready Player One, I loved all the pop culture references. Never growing tired of hearing them come up but what I didn't like is how much he used them to tell the story. That is that this time the story heavily borrowed from The Last Starfighter & Iron Eagle. Now that's not to say other people haven't done the same in the past but when the main tool of your storytelling is all these 80s references it sometimes hurts your storytelling because your story becomes cliche and very predictable as to what is going to happen to your characters. But at the end of the day, as you can see I enjoyed the story because of all the pop culture references even though I knew what was going to happen to the everyone.

Bloody good start to a new series

An enjoyable start to a new series. Truly enjoyed the new take on the classic movie monsters and the impact and interaction in a post 9/11 world seemed very believable in the story telling. Downside it took me a while to get over the narrator's voice but once I got sucked into the story I didn't even notice or mind how irritating some of the characters' voices were.

Welcome...Back To Jurassic Park

Would you listen to Jurassic Park again? Why?

This is the second time I listened to Jurassic Park because I wanted to get ready for Jurassic World. I forgot how great the story was.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

He did a great job bring the characters to live. At this point I have started to look up what else he has narrated so I could purchase more works of his.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I got so sucked into the story that I didn't want my drive to end just so I could get to the next chapter.

This is easily one of my all time favorite books by one of my favorite authors.

What did you love best about Church of Marvels?

The four main characters were well developed

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Denice Stradling overall reading of the novel was great...however at times I could tell that the editing process was not fully completed because her levels would vary throughout the reading.
