Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few. Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop students with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes.

Historia
College. A time of transition from youth to young adulthood. New lessons, new responsibilities, new distractions. A period of life treasured by most. Unless you happen to attend an institute of higher learning where the bullies are werewolves, the teachers are sadists, and the pretty girls are all deadly. A school like that demands a special kind of student, someone with the skills and power to survive. Someone like Declan O'Carroll.

Another Home run
Revisado: 02-23-17
Another home run in the elder series. As Pia and Dragos have told their stories, this is a new set of elder races and mixed elder races. Fighting for survival, as always, and with a new breed of witch (or is she?) to help us find our way. Don't miss out.

Historia
With 12 hellhounds after her, pregnant Charley Davidson takes refuge at the only place she thinks they can't get to her: the grounds of an abandoned convent. But after months of being cooped up there, Charley is ready to pop. Both metaphorically and literally, since she is now roughly the size of a beached whale. Fortunately a new case has captured her attention, one that involves a murder on the very grounds the team has taken shelter upon.

The originality of using the grim reaper on these fantasies, combined with herl laugh out loud rants makes this a great series, this book is the best so far, but needs to write faster if she is going to leave us on such major cliff hanger

Historia
After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

Historia
Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro.... As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life....

Entertaining, Amusing, and a Great Story line
Revisado: 02-18-13
Listen to all three of these books in order. Makes me want to visit the real Inn Boonsboro which is owned by Nora Roberts family. The town of Boonsboro and the residents responsible to keeping downtown alive keep you entertained through all three books. This is book three of the series, and once you listen to the first two, you will want to find out about who Elizabeth really is and what happened to Billy, and will have to download this one.
Listening will bring bursts of laughter and bouts of tears.

The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

Nora Roberts hits a home run
Revisado: 02-04-13
As truck drivers my husband and i listen as we drive. This entire series is fantastic. The characters are amusing, touching, and truly unforgettable. Normally, once I hear a book, it takes a while before I am ready to listen to it again. This series however, I find myself re-listening the next day while he's driving instead of going to sleep as I should, and laughing out loud again, even though I just listened to it the night before.
Boonsboro, the small town in Maryland has both male and female characters who are strong successful individuals, yet vulnerable in their own ways. Nora Roberts always entertains, but this series may become my all time favorite of hers (which in the past was the In Death series she writes under JD Robb). Don't miss the fun nor the ghost in Inn Boonsboro as the Montgomery boys meet their individual matches, in women, dogs, and kids.
And as Hope says in the final book of this series, what women wouldn't want to grow up to be Justine Montgomery, the mother and driving force of the Montgomery clan.

A New Must Listen to Series
Revisado: 12-22-12
As an avid listener (I drive 10-11 hours daily) I have a number of series that I wait and watch for new releases. I can tell you right now that this will be one of those on the top of the list. There are plenty of changeling books out there, but this one brings a new twist. As our wolf changeling started as a Navy Seal team with some ESP type powers, who after an attack in Afghanistan are recruited to work for the government out of the Wyoming wilderness to help ward off attacks by the non human populations of the world. As with humans, not all paranormal creatures are bad, and our team captures those preying on humans with the hopes of rehabilitation. As always, there is a bad guy, in these books its a corporation trying to manipulate human DNA and create their own changelings.
The characters in our Alpha pack are developing into the characters we love, and some we will always love to hate. I will be listening to the next book soon and hope that JD Tyler doesn't leave us hanging for too long between books.

Short stories from favorite authors.
Revisado: 09-29-12
Where does Dark and Stormy Knights rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I enjoyed most of the short stories from Dark and stormy Knights. I like a longer book better than short stories on the whole.
What other book might you compare Dark and Stormy Knights to and why?
Jim Butcher's Dresden series as well as Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the mob boss saves the little girl. He's not as bad as he wants you to believe
Any additional comments?
I especially liked the story by Jim Butcher. Instead of a story about the main character in his Dresden series, he writes a story about one of Dresden's adversaries. He makes the mob boss human and likeable. At the end he adds the twist that the security measures he uses to destroy the monster that attacks his headquarters were put in place for his final confrontation with Dresden. Now you don't want either of these characters to lose that confrontation.

Historia
Gail Carriger created a fascinating steampunk vision of Victorian England in her “intoxicatingly witty” (Publishers Weekly, starred review) debut novel Soulless—the first in the best-selling Parasol Protectorate series. Changeless is the second in the series and finds Alexia Tarabotti, now the Lady Woolsey, quite put out after her werewolf husband goes missing. So, armed with her trusty parasol, Alexia boards a dirigible and heads for Scotland to find him.

Unexpected Favorite
Revisado: 09-29-12
Would you listen to Changeless again? Why?
Yes, I would listen again. Alexia is straight forward and amusing at the same time. The character development of all the characters is well thought out and most of them are extremely unexpected.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Alexia is my favorite character in these books. As a pragmatic woman, who speaks her mind is extremely entertaining. Her attitude toward the acceptable and social status expected in the class conscious England of the late 1800 is refreshing and laugh out loud in it's boldness.
Which scene was your favorite?
All scenes in which Alexia swings her parasol rate high on my list. When she first meets the BUR head investigator makes you laugh out loud. And in the humor and craziness around her, there are also touching scenes, like when Alexia helps an old vampire watch a sunset unharmed.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I read while I drive. I didn't want to reach my destination as I wanted to hear what happened next.
Any additional comments?
The entire changeless series is delightful. I would recommend you listen to all of them in order, and be prepared to laugh out loud.
