Historia
On the day the government decrees that women are no longer allowed more than 100 words daily, Dr. Jean McClellan is in denial. This can't happen here. Not in America. Not to her. This is just the beginning. Soon women are not permitted to hold jobs. Girls are no longer taught to read or write. Females no longer have a voice. Before, the average person spoke 16,000 words a day, but now women only have 100 to make themselves heard. But this is not the end. For herself, her daughter, and every woman silenced, Jean will reclaim her voice.

Fell Flat
Revisado: 09-07-18
I was so into this book for the first half. I ignored some of the inconsistencies and kept flipping pages because I loved the idea of the story line. The book had tons of potential, but unfortunately fell flat during the last third of the text. The climax and resolution felt thrown together and rushed. There were more plot-holes than answers. The author seemed to lose her focus and all sense of realism. It made no sense that the protagonist's old friend, Jackie, randomly appeared. That is just one of the many plot elements that had no purpose or was not adequately explained.
Overall, I was totally disappointed in this purchase. If the author would have focused her story line and paid more attention to character development and sequence, I think this book could have been really good!

Lauren: Graham is my brother's best friend. He's always been my protector and my confident because he accepts me the way I am - and not many do. I can't imagine not having him in my life. Our weekend together was supposed to be a celebration. I graduated from college, Graham got engaged and signed with a pro football team, and my brother landed his dream job. It should have been the best time of our lives. Except that the weekend started with me walking in on Graham's fiancée going down on my brother. I complicated the situation by having sex with Graham after that.

Cheesy but sweet
Revisado: 05-15-18
I appreciated that there was an actual plotline to this novel, but was put off by the cheesiness. Many of the conversations were incredibly unrealistic and over-the-top. The narrator did a great job portraying the characters even despite the cliche dialog. Overall it was okay, not a waste of a credit, but wouldn't listen again.

Four rules: No names. No pictures. No hesitations. Must be willing to be shared. Welcome to the Triple Crown Club - the filthy, dark, secret playground of the royal elite. The Triple Crown Club contains Royally Shared (book one), Royally Claimed (book two), and Royally Tempted (book three) of the Triple Crown Club series. This MFMM romance is all about her - no M/M.

Basically the same story told 3 times
Revisado: 04-19-18
While the book was enjoyable, it was basically the same story told 3 times. There we subtle differences but pretty much the same phrasing and plot. The endings always felt really rushed and unrealistic. Each story involved falling in love within 3 days without anything other than a physical connection- I was just looking for more.
It is an easy listen and the concept was different from any books I had heard before. I appreciated the narrators, but wasn't amazed with the storyline or the author's ability to write each character/book with a unique voice.

Historia
Years ago, just before the country was incinerated to wasteland, 10 men and their families colonized an island off the coast. They built a radical society of ancestor worship, controlled breeding, and the strict rationing of knowledge and history. Only the Wanderers - chosen male descendants of the original 10 - are allowed to cross to the wastelands, where they scavenge for detritus among the still-smoldering fires.

Interesting and thought-provoking
Revisado: 11-15-17
While I loved the story itself, I was less impressed with the narrator. Many of the characters were portrayed in a very whiney voice that distracted from the storyline and damaged the integrity of the roles. I listened to this book twice and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the whiney voices and the mispronounced words (ex/ frantically was pronounced "frah-net-ically" and "strength" was pronounced "streh-ngth")
Would definitely recommend!

A Must-Read
Revisado: 10-27-17
The story was captivating, inspiring, heart-breaking, and hopeful. A story of love, loss, and the power of selfless friendship.
