I've never been a big podcast fan so if anyone knows one out there that's reminiscent of Heidi I would love to give it a try.

fun series, but...

All three stories the leads make some potentially deadly mistake, only to be rescued. I would have liked them to be each a little stronger and smarter. I don't think that would have taken away from the lusty parts at all.

robotic narrator

I couldn't get past the narrator to even get to the story. very monotone. no emotions. for something that's supposed to provide a little "heat" it's a disappointing read.

Downloaded this as one of my monthly free offers from Kindle First Reads that also happened to come with the $1.99 audio. Glad I did. not the typical genre I go for, but I always enjoy listening to Saskia Maarleveld.

This was a relatively quick "read". With my 2 hour round trip commute I got through it in a week. went and downloaded the other 5 books in the series via Kindle whisper sink $1.99. For the length I wouldn't want to waste a full audible credit on these. Maybe if the author would sell it as a box set I would.

As for the story, it was a fun easy murder mystery listen. ending was predictable, but poison taste testing for the rich and famous gave it a good foundation. I would recommend if you looking for something ligt as it doesn't require full attention to follow along. Perfect for commuting in traffic or multitasking at home.

side note: I completely sympathized with Izzy's need for a good espresso.

can't get past first chapter

didn't realize it was book of 4

I had written a not so kind review of poor character development, but didn't realize this was book 4 of a series. Now knowing this, it's a good "non-prequal" recap of Matthew. Which, having now read, listened too, and watched the Discovery of Witches, allows me to appreciate this book both as sequel and stand alone. But I highly recommend reading the trilogy before this one.

fills in the blanks

Good back story of Newt. Fills in the blanks between Alien and Aliens. Includes some good movie dialog from aliens that ties it in well. looking forward to more of it's kind.

predictable but cute

this was surprisingly a very good listen on commute. very cute story. short as most kid books are but the entire time I kept thinking of my two toddlers that are going to grow up in a world where something as simple as wired earphones are a thing of the past. I think my boys would love this story when they are a bit older. going to have to put it on my list of bed time books for them.

Had me watching Alien and Aliens again.

Got me pumped to binge on some Alien. Typical alien story. Sound effects we're done well. Not overly distracting but matched the movies well. Easy to picture the characters, especially Ripley, navigate through the shadows hunted by monsters.

This is my first audible that Ive listened to that was performed rather then read. I listened to this as part of my monthly freebies. I probably would not have downloaded otherwise but if I have a few extra credits to use in the future or there is a sale Ill look into downloading others in this style.
