Annoying narration

The narrator has a very annoying narration of male characters. Sounding pompous irritating and strange. Grinding on my nerves and makes me lose focus and interest in the story. I gave up listening this book. I forgot how bad R.B narration is on male characters. It’s always the same issues . I will not give her any other changes. I will read this book and see whether I like this book. Because honestly I don’t have any clue if the story since I gave up after several attempts of continuing listening.

The heroine annoyed me immensely.
The narration was really something you couldn’t overcome with . The way the narrator voiced the heroine was grinding and irritating to hear and was really distracting. Also it sounded like the way a male narrator would try to do his female character! I couldn’t connect with the heroine!
And I guess I lacked the heat in this story. I do prefer some level of heat in my historical romance novels. Yes , there’s books that are clean read etc ,which are a delightful read and has a very strong and engaging storytelling. This really was lackluster and left you in a anticlimactic frustration.
I will not listen to this narrator again and I am not sure whether I will give this author another try again. Maybe not as an audiobook.
If it’s possible I will return this book before finishing it. Sadly it’s not a keeper.

I am giving this book 3 stars without knowing whether it’s worthy or deserves more because I gave up listening to this book due to ONE reason: The narrator’s depiction and way of talking as the male lead.( sorry English isn’t my native language).
I gave it multiple chances and tries but I find the male voice so irritating and annoying that I finally gave it up. He sounded angry, one dimensional and abrupt all the times. I guess I will read this series of Tina Gabrielle since there’s no great narration of her books. Wish that her books were narrated by Mary Jane Wells, Susan Duerden, Sasika Maarleveld, Kate Reading , Faye Adele or Justine Eyre!

The narrator!!!

I gave this story up after 5 minutes. I don’t know why but the narrator had this very distinctive annoying tendency to drag and pronounce YOU in a very strange way. I tried not to be bothered by it but her YOU’s and certain other others killed my ears. It was unbearable to listen too . So sadly I gave up on this book.

Stacy Reid series is really a wonderful gem. And Madeleine Lesley is superb in her narration! She will be added to my favorite narrators of Romantic Historical books with Mary Jane Wells, Justine Eyre and Susan Duerden .
Will looking forward to listen more of this narrator. Loved the story and the characters.
