Historia
In Relentless Spirit, Missy and her parents, D.A. and Dick Franklin, share the story of how Missy became the athlete she is today, a six-time Olympic medalist, five of them gold. Since her Olympic debut in London's 2012 games - when Missy was just 17 - people who have met the Franklins or seen them on TV have wondered what it was like to raise such a champion. What was the training like? How did Missy handle school? How did the family find the right facilities, coaches, and support network?

Perfect for the parents of athletes
Revisado: 12-31-16
I love how this story is told my Missy and her mom and her dad. It was good to hear everyone's perspective and they sounded like the parents of the kids on my daughter's team. We are facing challenges as all athletes do, and it was good to hear the reassurance of a family whose struggles are similar though on a bigger scale.

Great for teachers
Revisado: 08-05-16
The content of this book is a guide to behavior science and the secret to why some teachers can manage classrooms and others struggle with daily discipline. I am going to recommended this for a book study with my teachers and school psychs this year.

Wonderful little Moral
Revisado: 11-07-10
This is a total must read for everyone including kids. My seven year old has listened to the story and we talk about it often. It has helped her cope with all of the changes in our lives recently including a big move, changing schools and jobs. It gives her a frame of reference of how to properly deal with her insecurity. And, me too.

Good read even for a young girl
Revisado: 09-03-10
I am a "young" woman (42), according to Suzanne, but this was very useful and intersting information. She is quite brilliant dispite her reputation and I am gald I got this selection.

Do NOT commit to a weight loss program this
Revisado: 07-29-10
I have tried everything and have recently become bored with the program that caused me to loose the most weight yet. I read this book and found out why I plateau, why I get bored, and why I continue to struggle. I have broken through the barrier and am loosing weight again without counting those stupid points!
Read it, read it again and meditate on the information. It is best used along side of a journal to record your own experiences and make your own reflections.
Love this book!

Historia
A plan to destroy America, a hundred years in the making, is about to be unleashed. There is a powerful technique called the Overton Window that can shape our lives, our laws, and our future. It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Change the debate and you change the country.

Typical Glenn Beck, Good Read
Revisado: 07-29-10
I found this book implementatons of what he has talked about on his show (not unexpectedly), but a little cheesy in some places. It gets four stars for creativity and artisitic manipulation of real word incidents, but looses one for the narrator (who I thought got in the way of the story). Good love story, but obviously written by a man, and thankfully no smut. Great action, decent character development, fabulous use of literary devices (avid readers make great writers). Again, more of a man's book, but women who follow politics will enjoy it. The best part of this book is the epiloge where he tells you to go back and Google some of the topics discussed. Do it if you dare. It is very interesting, as you would expect from Glenn. Good book, worth a listen.

Historia
At the end of her best-selling memoir Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert fell in love with Felipe, a Brazilian-born man of Australian citizenship who'd been living in Indonesia when they met. Resettling in America, the couple swore eternal fidelity to each other, but also swore to never, ever, under any circumstances get legally married. But providence intervened one day in the form of the United States government....

Loved it!
Revisado: 07-29-10
Liz starts this book out be explaining that like Eat, Pray, Love, she penned this one assuming that no one would read it. Therefore, she comes across as fresh, honest and authentic in her search for answers to question that all women have either before they get married or years after: is getting married to this man the right thing to do?
Although I disagree with some of her politics, I find that she and I, and all women really, have so much in common when it comes to how this marriage thing works, socially, emotionally, and physically. Unlike me, she did alot of research into the history of marriage and marriage in different cultures and really gave obsessive thought before she jumped in. Her finding make one thing clear, our struggles and frustrations, our joys and contentment with our spouce (male or female) are universal. After 10 1/2 years of marriage, I found this book to be not just commiserative but also reaffirming in ways that make me a better wife even though I chosed to marry for less well thought out reasons.
I love listening to her voice read her own words. It is like talking to a girlfriend over lunch because she is so intimate with the details stated and unstated that you want to keep listening to hear more.
