Historia
In Oscar Wars, Michael Schulman chronicles the remarkable, sprawling history of the Academy Awards and the personal dramas—some iconic, others never-before-revealed—that have played out on the stage and off camera. Unlike other books on the subject, each chapter takes a deep dive into a particular year, conflict, or even category that tells a larger story of cultural change, from Louis B. Mayer to Moonlight. Schulman examines how the red carpet runs through contested turf, and the victors aren't always as clear as the names drawn from envelopes.

I really enjoyed this book. In love the old stories and inside scoops and scuffles. The narrator is fabulous.

Historia
As one of the music world’s most iconic artists and the cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), Bono’s career has been written about extensively. But in Surrender, it’s Bono who picks up the pen, writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism.

The Bar Has Been Set and It’s High!
Revisado: 11-30-22
I loved this book but even more I LOVED this audible book. It felt like an immersion experience with music playing and long talks about life, love, Spirituality, growing up & lessons learned and the music. I’m worried now that most other audibles will seem boring.

Historia
Whistlestop tells the human story of nervous gambits hatched in first-floor hotel rooms, failures of will before the microphone, and the cross-country crack-ups of long-planned stratagems. At the bar at the end of a campaign day, these are the stories reporters rehash for themselves and embellish for newcomers. In addition to the familiar tales, Whistlestop also remembers the forgotten stories about the bruising and reckless campaigns of the 19th century.

Interesting & Entertaining
Revisado: 10-11-16
If you could sum up Whistlestop in three words, what would they be?
Interesting. Entertaining. Fun. I like history, political strategy & stories. It's interesting to hear what worked, what didn't & why candidates made certain choices..
