Dystopian at its Finest
Revisado: 12-17-23
I had never heard of this author or series, but I am so glad I stumbled on it. The author strikes the perfect balance of satisfying the need for details to set the scene and know the characters and not overburdening the reader with minutiae. It's a straightforward story of survival in a falling world. The characters are endearing with ample mystery to be interesting. I am looking forward to reading the other two books in the series and will be recommending it to others.

Historia
Former Army brat Morgan Albright has finally planted roots in a friendly neighborhood near Baltimore. Her friend and roommate Nina helps her make the mortgage payments, as does Morgan's job as a bartender. But after she and Nina host their first dinner party—attended by Luke, the flirtatious IT guy who'd been chatting her up at the bar—her carefully built world is shattered. The back door glass is broken, cash and jewelry are missing, her car is gone, and Nina lies dead on the floor.

Great thriller
Revisado: 06-19-23
This novel was outside my usual genre, dystopian. I liked the story overall, but I hated the character Miles. He’s a pushy, arrogant jerk who runs over the main character and bosses her around like a child. It’s just weird. Not romantic at all.

Twisty
Revisado: 01-21-23
I was drawn into this story from the beginning. What’s better than a great novel except a novel within a novel. Exceptional writing if you can deal with the gratuitous sexual language. The story has plenty of twists and breath holding moments of suspense. Go ahead and jump into this one, but be prepared to stay awhile. You will not want to put it down.
