Historia
Gav isn't really sure how he ended up with a castle full of goblins, or why he has a princess locked in a cell. All he can do is play along with his own evil plan in hopes of getting his memories back before he gets himself killed. But as he realizes that nothing—from the incredibly tasteless cloak adorned with flames to the aforementioned princess—is quite what it seems, Gav must face up to all the things the Dread Lord Gavrax has done. And he'll have to answer the hardest question of all—who does he want to be?

Very boring
Revisado: 04-24-25
I would not recommend this book. Nothing happened in the first half and the second half was slightly less boring. Sorry to say I wanted to love this book as I love fantasy normally, but it did not hit.

Historia
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

Somewhat predictable but overall a very cute story
Revisado: 12-06-24
I liked the characters, the tone of the book, and the setting. I also liked how it flipped from past to present, however, I do think that could have been more clear, possibly in chapter names. I didn’t like how some of the plot seemed predictable, but I also did like how it was set up. No twists in this one for me as I guessed it immediately. It’s a light, easy and fun listen.

She will initiate sex with her husband, Joe. But before she can put her modest plan into action - life happens. Today, it turns out, is the day Timby has decided to fake sick to weasel his way into his mother's company. It's also the day Joe has chosen to tell his office - but not Eleanor - that he's on vacation.

Not a good book, very boring and the performers voice is really annoying. I would not recommend to anyone.

I got her fired. Okay, so I’d had a bad day and took it out on a bystander in a pizza shop. But there’s nothing innocent about Ally Morales. She proves that her first day of her new job in my office, after being hired by my mother. So, maybe, her colorful, annoying, inexplicably alluring personality brightens up the magazine’s offices that have felt like a prison for the past year. Maybe, I like that she argues with me in front of the editorial staff. And maybe, my after-hours fantasies are haunted by those brown eyes and that sharp tongue.

I got the audiobook and a physical copy since it is for a book club I wanted for make sure I had a copy! I discovered this is my favorite way to read. I loved the book and finished it in 3 days. Worth the read, has some racy scenes in it, but written very well.

Frustrated by the limitations of cross-race communication in her predominantly white town, a young African American girl teaches herself to sign. Years later, Laurel uproots her husband and daughters from their downwardly mobile, overeducated, and underpaid life in the South End of Boston for Cortland County, Massachusetts. The Freemans are to take part in an experiment: They've been hired by a private research institute to teach sign language to a chimpanzee.

Great until the last chapter
Revisado: 09-11-23
I really liked this book and the different narrators. I felt like I was truly there in whichever setting the narrator was in. I did not like the ending before the epilogue, it felt rushed and maybe should have had another chapter before the epilogue. Overall, written well, but I wish the ending was more.
