The land of Ascarlia, a fabled realm of bloodied steel and epic sagas, has been ruled by the Sister Queens for centuries. No one has dared question their rule. Until now. Whispers speak of longships of mysterious tattooed warriors, sailing under the banners of a murderous cult of oath-breakers long thought extinct. Historia
For the first time, John Sampson is on his own. The brilliant crime-solving duo of Washington, DC’s, Metro PD and the FBI has a proven MO: Detective Alex Cross makes his own rules. Detective John Sampson enforces them. When military-style attacks erupt, brutally sidelining Cross, Sampson is sent reeling. The patterns are too random—Sampson’s friend, his partner, his brother—have told him. Don’t trust anyone. As a shadow force advances on the nation’s capital, Sampson alone must protect the Cross family, his own young daughter, and every American, including the president.

We need more of these!!
Revisado: 03-08-24
I admit I was skeptical when I saw the book was going to be different than others. It turned out great and I think James Patterson has been slipping by sitting on such a great character like John. Seeing things from his perspective was very cool. I knew he was a tough no nonsense guy that could handle his business from other books (trying hard not to give a spoiler for one of my fav books in the series) but having an entire book with him adds more to him. I hope to see more.

Any additional comments?
I have never read any of the other books in the series I chose this because it was recommended and I had a credit to use. At first I was bored as he went through his boring life He mentioned the exiting things that happened in the other books in the past. I purchased another book and came back to it after It was over. The book became very interesting and I realized that the beginning was setting the tone and explaining the past. I am now hooked to the series and plan on purchasing every book in the series.

Historia
FitzChivalry - royal bastard and former king’s assassin - has left his life of intrigue behind. As far as the rest of the world knows, FitzChivalry Farseer is dead and buried. Masquerading as Tom Badgerlock, Fitz is now married to his childhood sweetheart, Molly, and leading the quiet life of a country squire. Though Fitz is haunted by the disappearance of the Fool, who did so much to shape Fitz into the man he has become, such private hurts are put aside in the business of daily life, at least until the appearance of menacing, pale-skinned strangers casts a sinister shadow over Fitz’s past...and his future.

love it!!

Where does Fool's Assassin rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
just like a majority of the reviews I read I was disappointed with the different narrator. I think that is not at any fault of Elliot Hill. its just that the previous narrator did such a great job and I already associated certain voices with the way the other narrator's voice. All of the feelings went away as I get further in the book. I also noticed a few comments about Fitz lamenting too much. He has sacrificed and lost so much I thought it was good. It gives the charectrr human characteristics. This was yet another instant favorite and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
