I have become a fan of Nicholas Sansbury Smith, and though he warned me that this was his first series and I may not enjoy it, I found it to be a very enjoyable story.
About the only downside would be the narration, and while Bronson Pinchot has himself over the years come a long way, many times is narration lacks the enthusiasm or excitement that is needed for a particular scene.

The roller coaster ride continues!

If you enjoy a book that starts off with a lot of action and leaves you anticipating the next chapter, then you will love this book.

And the narration?
RC Bray. Nuff said.

An excellent start to an excellent series.

I don't want to spoil the beginning of the series for you so I will just say don't let the ending dissuade you from continuing.

RC Bray is his usual masterful self. If this is your first RC Bray narrated book you will understand why he has such a large following.

A Good Ending Of A Great Story.

As with the previous 6 volumes, this book delivered all the way around
I was kind of sorry to hear it end.

And the narration by Bronson pinchot really came through on this one also.

The Series Gets Better And Better With Each Book.

At first I was thinking it was going to be another zombie story and I was lukewarm about it. But then after I got into it and realized that it was not just another zombie story, it really piqued my interest.
The plot and the story develops and moves quickly, with a lot of nuances that will hold your interest.
The characters are well-defined and if you have any sort of military background you will easily be able to identify with them.

As for the narration I will admit that in the beginning I almost passed it up when I saw that it was narrated by Bronson Pinchot. But then I remembered the excellent job that he did on another book, "Matterhorn:A Story Of The Vietnam War", so I decided to give it a chance.
And honestly, the narration of the first book was a little lackluster I thought. But with all the subsequent books Mr. Pinchot really ratcheted up the intensity and the excitement in his voice which made for a very good listen.
Overall I highly recommend this series.

Tough to get through.

the story was so-so, but the narration was awful.
it didn't flow, constantly with the halting delivery and the monotone over most of it.
I will be deleting the rest of this series from my wish.
