Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Enough with all the immature romance and unnecessary graphic sex scenes.
Revisado: 12-07-23
I listened to the first book. I enjoyed the ideas. The romantic thoughts of teens get tiresome but it was fine. Second book has quite a bit of straight up pornography. If that’s what you’re after go ahead but I figured some people like me would want to be warned. I’m not prude I’m happily married but I don’t like engaging in pornographic material anymore.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Amazing story, however, being in the mind of a horny twenty something girl gets a bit grating.
Revisado: 05-26-23
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Dragon riding has been done many times, however, the author made it her own. The narrator did a decent job bringing emotion to the story but she needs to see an ENT doctor. Parts of it were predictable but that did not diminish the joy along the journey. I just wish their was a little less thirst. Sexuality is a part of life but you don’t have to remind the reader every five minutes how powerfully attracted she is.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

A fantasy novel that could change your life
Revisado: 03-24-21
I read one review that almost turned me away from this book. It was a review that mentioned how obvious the ending was. I usually hate that. In this case I'm glad I ignored it. Yes I knew the likeliest outcome for Nora, but the journey was important how she got there was breathtaking. listening to her struggle against herself. Being forced to take thought distortions many people never even question.
During a time when suicide is rising worldwide this book could be a life line. It can't fix your life but it could make you re-examine your life. You might find as I did that your life is full of "little things," seedlings of hope which can be tended like a gardener nursing a tiny struggling plant to full blooming glory. little kindnesses that remind you of what makes humanity great.

Historia
Miracles are happening. Pray to God they stop. In the dead of winter, on a highway in Quebec, a man crashes his car and survives. In New York, a homeless person is run over by a bus and lives. In Tokyo, a teenager jumps off a high rise building and fails in taking her own life. All over the world, miracles like these transpire, and people breathe a sigh of relief. But for the next week, some people will begin to suspect a terrible truth. A handful will even search for it. One man will find it. And in seven days, all hell will break loose.

Too much porn for me
Revisado: 01-21-21
I'm an adult. However, I find words like "c@#&" "c@£" and
"P@££Y" too graphic when used heavy handedly. Blackmore's other books weren't nearly this bad. Full descriptions of adult acts including brief but graphic descriptions of rape, comments about the appearance of someone's genetalia etc. Abound.
I wasn't able to finish the book but if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, the story itself is good.

This book has been one of the few that I re-read over and over again. Every character has a unique and enjoyable voice (both literary and literally). The story is as topsy turvy and unpredictable as it's namesake.
Enjoyable for youth and adults alike.

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

The Bobs are struggling with their imperfections and the personification of their ideological variance.
Meanwhile they are learning about a new alien species who seem, at first glance, unworthy of the attention the Bobs must give them in the hopes of finding Bender. This book is not fit for those who wish to remain narrow-minded.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.
