Historia
Captain John "Black Jack" Geary's legendary exploits are known to every schoolchild. Revered for his heroic "last stand" in the early days of the war, he was presumed dead. But a century later, Geary miraculously returns from survival hibernation and reluctantly takes command of the Alliance fleet as it faces annihilation by the Syndics.
Appalled by the hero-worship around him, Geary is nevertheless a man who will do his duty. And he knows that bringing the stolen Syndic hypernet key safely home is the Alliance's one chance to win the war. But to do that, Geary will have to live up to the impossibly heroic "Black Jack" legend.

Why haven't I heard of this before? It's great!
Revisado: 03-02-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Lost Fleet: Dauntless to be better than the print version?
This story and series is just plain great. But what makes it special is the reader, Christian Rummel. I have heard many readers but no one else compares to him in his ability to make multiple characters sound so unique so instantly. I just got sucked in as I drove so many long hours.
What other book might you compare The Lost Fleet: Dauntless to and why?
This is a great version of The 10,000.
Which character – as performed by Christian Rummel and Jack Campbell – was your favorite?
It's hard to choose a particular favorite character because each one is written so strongly.
Any additional comments?
If you love sci fi/adventure/politics/sub plots/reluctant romance/anything space technical/ and intrigue, then this was written for you.

Historia
Colonel Andrew Keane and his blue-coated soldiers were not the first humans time-space-warped to a world so familiar yet so foreign. Humans abounded on the perverse planet-humans treated like cattle by the alien warrior overlords. Keane's Civil War weaponry defeated the swords, spears and crossbows of his monstrous adversaries.

Seemed to take forever
Revisado: 10-08-12
Would you try another book from William R. Forstchen and/or Patrick Lawlor?
I might but in print only
Has Union Forever turned you off from other books in this genre?
No it has not
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Patrick Lawlor?
I have no alternative readers name in mind
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Maybe
Any additional comments?
I just couldn't get into it because of the tone quality of the reader. He read well but sounded so tinny and unauthoritive. Like a soprano male voice
